Great value value day course, congenial venue and attentive tutor who was generous with ad hoc tips and extras and had many samples to examine. Having the pattern in advance and taking along pre-cut, interfaced and labelled pieces made the construction straightforward and achievable within the time. Drinks offered throughout and a snack. Looking forward to trying other courses there.

This is a very enjoyable course with six sessions spread over about 12 weeks so plenty of time to make progress on the project between classes.
The venue is lovely with plenty of inspiring creations around the studio and it is spacious and well- ventilated so felt very ‘ covid-safe’.
Sarah is an excellent teacher. She is very enthusiastic and knowledgeable and able to explain techniques clearly. I would thoroughly recommend others to do this course, whether beginners or more experienced quilters. Great fun!

I have posted before but will do so again as I have just attended a Special effects in Art morning workshop. An opportunity to try out different gels and mediums on acrylic paint, and also the different effects you can achieve on watercolour by using salt, alcohol, ink, foil etc. Really enjoyed the workshop, but would have loved for it to be half hour to an hour longer as there was so much to cover, and clearing up between watercolour and acrylics took a little time. Can highly recommend!

I had a wonderful time with Ellie Hipkin at Made and making. It's such a gorgeous space. I had no idea the garden centre is so huge, so if it's your first time ask a member of staff where to go, you'll find it if you go through the restaurant.
I loved the experience, the space is gorgeous, peaceful and the teaching was excellent.

I signed up to midweek makes on a friend’s recommendation and I am passing on that same recommendation to others.
I received my box three-course, with pretty much everything you need contained in cute little bags ready for each weeks online session.
Each week you open a new bag, putting aside the chocolate biscuit!
You participate online, with Sarah leading the group with a step by step demo. Crafts have included iris folding cards, pincushions and gift boxes, all simple and achievable. The session is well guided, allows for individuality and feels sociable too.
The hour whizzes by and is a great escape from home life dramas. Plus you can settle back and admire your achievement with the chocolate biscuit 😁

My friend and I did a crochet class yesterday and it was wonderful. Sarah is an amazing teacher, she explains everything clearly and as many times as needed. The atmosphere was very nice, only eight people, so everyone got the attention they needed. Everything was provided, including a set of very good quality crochet hooks, plus a lovely cuppa and biscuits. I have never known three hours to fly by so quickly and feel that I learnt so much, and now I can keep building on that knowledge. Thank you Sarah!

Had a lovely day today at one of the Sew Friendly sessions. Sarah [the owner] was there to help and did so, helping me to get started on my project.
I would highly recommend attending any one of the classes as you will always learn something new and have a relaxing time.

I recently attended a 'get to know your sewing machine course'. The workshop taught me everything I needed to know about my sewing machine and I am happy to report that we are no longer 'strangers'. By the end of the 5 hour course I managed to produce an attractive and competently sewn cushion cover with two buttonholes. The course, which was delivered by Sarah Brangwyn, was excellent and she provided lots of one-to-one support to all members of the group. The course atmosphere was very friendly and supportive and I will definitely be booking more courses to continue my journey into the fine art of sewing.

I had the best day ever. My sister and I spent the day making a wool wet felt picture. We felt very welcomed as beginners and finished the day with beautiful pictures that I can not wait to frame and put up on my wall. The teacher was excellent and her timing perfect. Really recommend

A really relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, but it also felt safe, clean and compliant with dreaded covid rules. The workshop was well structured and organised to perfection, and we all managed to complete a beautiful felted vessel on time. It was just what I needed and a very enjoyable morning.

Hi Sarah, what classes have you got coming up soon for patchwork and quilting. I now have some time and wondered if I could come and learn something new. Not Monday mornings but flexible otherwise. Or I years ago made a cushion with you putting pipping around and a zip wouldn’t mind doing that again if you’re doing it. Thanks Audrey
