About
OPEN FOR PRE-BOOKED TICKETS ONLY FOR 2022 Broadleaved and architectural plants, mature trees and ponds support, frame and enhance an ever changing collection of contemporary sculpture in the stunning garden that Hannah Peschar and Anthony Paul created over 38 years ago. The Sculpture Garden displays over 200 pieces by 50 plus artists from Britain & the rest of Europe every year; each carefully sited within the landscaped gardens. The placement of the sculpture is the key aspect that makes the garden so magical. A strong connection between art and nature is crucial; be it the way a plant frames the piece, how the piece accentuates the surrounding planting (such as the texture of the trees or the colour of the moss), or how a shaft of sunlight plays across the surface of the sculpture. Part of the joy is discovering pieces hidden in secluded parts of the garden; creating surprise and intrigue at every turn. The exhibition runs for 7 months over the spring, summer and autumn seasons.

I had a fabulous time, beautiful pieces of sculpture in many different mediums and styles, that are sympathetically arranged in a lush wooded area with ponds and water features. A knowledgeable and enthusiastic lady was on shift at reception, to welcome visitors and give out guides with an easy to understand map. There is a loo. Picnic tables and chairs are near reception and the arrival area if you want to bring something to eat/drink. Booking is via their website and was only £12.50 for an adult. This sculpture garden has changing exhibits and of course will have a different appearance according to the season. I will definitely return in other seasons to appreciate this amazing park.

We spent a good couple of hours at this sculpture park. Some of the exhibits are beautiful but some are really quite bizarre . It specialises more in modern art than quirky or amusing exhibits which I prefer. The grounds are stunning and some of the plants are just as impressive as the sculptures. It's easy to find your way around as you are given a booklet listing the exhibits in order and directions on which way to go. The booklet also gives prices should you wish to purchase any. You do have to book your visit, and they only allow a certain number of entrants for each time slot, so you are never surrounded by lots of other visitors when you want to take photos. It's a shame they don't have a cafe on site, but we were prepared with a packed lunch. There is limited seating on the grass by the car park for this.

Having been to the Sculpture Park a few days previously this is a good contrast. The grounds are beautiful and peaceful as it's strictly limited entry by pre booking. BBC Gardening magazine 2 for 1 works here. Parking very limited. You can follow the trail or wander and it's mainly on grass or gravel, narrow paths through shrubs. Nowhere to hide if it rains - which it did torrentially. A toilet in the middle, in a small house. Few places to sit.

Each sculpture is itemised in the booklet, along with price - some may have been sold already. Some are very clever, some too modern for our tastes.

Spent a wonderful few hours in these tranquil gardens, some very interesting pieces of art, shame all out of my price range. Warm and helpful greeting, we took advantage of the 2:1 gardeners world offer. Helpful map provided to make sure you see everything. We are quite disorganised and didn’t bring any refreshments, assumed there may be something there but there wasn’t from what we saw.
Have been to the Farnham Sculpture Park before - whilst there are many more sculptures there, several were broken and we much preferred the smaller, natural and more tranquil experience at Hannah Peschar

We visited the sculpture garden on a very humid Saturday afternoon and didn't really know what to expect. We were stunned by the garden which is beautiful, it felt wild, we happily lost several hours exploring and enjoying the sculptures. The beautiful back drop really made the art more interesting seeing it in such a natural environment. We would highly recommend a visit, especially if you want to loose a few hours away from the hustle and bustle of real life.

We had a beautiful few hours wandering around the glorious garden and sculpture trail. So much is there without feeling overwhelming.
Our beasts of around 10 were absorbed by the variety of the sculptures (whilst running a lot,) as were we, just without pulses racing.
Friendly and fascinating.
Thank you.

Despite this being 20 minutes from where I live I’d never been but so glad I did. The grounds are rambling and show off some sculptures better than others but I will very happily return to see what’s still there and any new ones.

The ground is uneven and probably not suitable for people with mobility difficulties but it’s like an adventure discovering a new sculpture.

We visited on a lovely sunny day but it could be a bit slippery when wet.

Thank you for your great review, we are so pleased you enjoyed your visit. Being a natural garden, it does get a little slippery in places in wet weather. Even today's pouring rain there are visitors enjoying the garden, kitted out in wellies and waterproofs!

there are so many tracks and footpaths through the woods, ponds and streams, but you are provided with a map to find your way around. Some of the sculptures are breathtaking, some quirky, some just downright strange , it all depends on your taste. The environment varies from typical English woodlands to sub tropical swamp and jungle - some absolutely amazing landscape gardening. We were warned by relatives who live in Surrey to bring sandwiches and a flask of tea, as there is no cafe. I would think a nice tea room would be a bonus to an otherwise magical attraction.

A very enjoyable visit. The Gardens are well laid out with a meandering route which takes a couple of hours to wander around allowing plenty of time to admire the Gardens and the many sculptures (50+) on display. A peaceful place to visit. No cafe but picnics welcome in the picnic area. Prebooking required. Well worth dropping by if in the vicinity.

This is one of the most magical places, a sensorial experience on multiple levels. The wooded landscape is quite simply enchanting, much enhanced by the vision, planting & work of extraordinary co-owner/designer Anthony Paul. The carefully considered setting of each exhibited sculpture is a masterclass in harmonious placement. There is a stimulating mix of styles, materials & talent which truly enhances the visit. Meandering along the twisting paths felt very much like stumbling into some timeless primal environment; absolutely loved it.
