About
OPEN FOR PRE-BOOKED TICKETS ONLY FOR 2024 Broadleaved and architectural plants, mature trees and ponds support, frame and enhance an ever changing collection of contemporary sculpture in the stunning garden that owners Hannah Peschar and Anthony Paul created 40 years ago. The Sculpture Garden displays 150 - 200 pieces by 50+ artists from Britain & Europe every year; each carefully sited within the landscaped gardens. The placement of the sculpture is the key aspect that makes the garden so magical. A strong connection between art and nature is crucial; be it the way a plant frames the piece, how the piece accentuates the surrounding planting (such as the texture of the trees or the colour of the moss), or how a shaft of sunlight plays across the surface of the sculpture. Part of the joy is discovering pieces hidden in secluded parts of the garden; creating surprise and intrigue at every turn. The exhibition runs for 7 months over the spring, summer and autumn seasons.

    Wondrous journey
We arrived in a place so calm and utterly peaceful. Armed with a map we started a most special journey with stunning art scattered in a beautiful woodland landscape for about 2 hours. I recommend this place to everyone. Thank you for creating this place. We will definitely revisit.

    An unexpected pleasure!
Such a lovely peaceful place with beautiful sculptures dotted around the trail. Very welcoming at reception and a printed guide given out, detailing the history of the garden and sculptures on the trail. We went on a sunny autumn day, when many of the sculptures looked at their best. Pleased we took coffee to stop and enjoy the atmosphere! We were very pleased to use our gift vouchers before the gardens close for the winter and very much enjoyed our visit.

Magical, peaceful idyll in the Surrey hills
Magical. Just absolutely magical. We had no idea what to expect but we couldn't have imagined such a beautiful, peaceful idyll of winding paths through woodland and over a waterfall, surrounded by unique works of art. The welcome was friendly, the paths easy to follow (some mobility is required) and the work is just perfect in situ - and much of it on sale if you would like to see it in your own garden! I can't recommend this too highly for a peaceful, reflective couple of hours in the Surrey hills.

    Brilliant
What an amazing Sculpture Garden the Hannah Peschar. well worth a visit. The garden is well designed and is devised so that you will see all the sculptures if you follow the trail. There is plenty to see here and the kids will enjoy it also. Some of the sculptures are for sale but rather expensive.

    Excellent and calming
Have wanted to visit for ages and finally got here! So worth the drive and winding roads to find this beautiful, calm oasis in the business of life. I really appreciated the limited number of visitors. Easy parking and an excellent route guiding you to see everything. What a lot to see. We loved meandering and seeing delightful views decorated with excellent sculptural pieces. Highly recommended for a quiet, calm visit. Not suitable if you aren't good on your feet. I personally wouldn't bring young children.

What a stunning place to visit.
Absolutely stunning gardens with such a variety of beautifully placed sculptures. I’m so glad it is for pre-booked tickets only. We had the final 3 tickets available for our time slot, but even then it was not crowded at all. Will definitely go back and I’ve recommended it to friends.

Brilliant visit to an amazing sculpture park.
Absolutely outstanding, we spent a wonderful few hours wandering around this fabulous sculpture park in the sunshine. Some really interesting and well crafted pieces scattered thoughtfully around some beautiful grounds accessed by some well marked paths. You definitely need to book before you go as numbers are limited.

    So unusual
his is a wonderful jungle of a garden with interesting sculptures dotted about. This is not your usual curated flower border type NT garden. Glad the sculptures are often made with natural materials rather than rusting metal. Wish they had a coffee facility after a long drive!

    Peaceful, beautiful and enjoyable.
Such a peaceful, beautiful place. We went on an overcast Sunday and enjoyed a leisurely 2 hour stroll around the gardens. We were given a comprehensive guide to the artworks that enhance the beauty of this lovely setting. The parking is limited so you have to book. This means the gardens are not crowded and you can wander at leisure. Next time we will take a picnic. Well worth a visit.

Despite this being 20 minutes from where I live I’d never been but so glad I did. The grounds are rambling and show off some sculptures better than others but I will very happily return to see what’s still there and any new ones.

The ground is uneven and probably not suitable for people with mobility difficulties but it’s like an adventure discovering a new sculpture.

We visited on a lovely sunny day but it could be a bit slippery when wet.

Thank you for your great review, we are so pleased you enjoyed your visit. Being a natural garden, it does get a little slippery in places in wet weather. Even today's pouring rain there are visitors enjoying the garden, kitted out in wellies and waterproofs!

A very enjoyable visit. The Gardens are well laid out with a meandering route which takes a couple of hours to wander around allowing plenty of time to admire the Gardens and the many sculptures (50+) on display. A peaceful place to visit. No cafe but picnics welcome in the picnic area. Prebooking required. Well worth dropping by if in the vicinity.

A hidden gem of nature and sculpture united. Your visit must be booked online, but once you arrive, you are made to feel welcome and special. You are given a booklet to help guide you around the garden and sculptures, which you can follow or ignore but I would advise you to follow, as you can easily miss sculptures otherwise. The garden itself is like being lost in a jungle, as the plants are so tall, but this adds to the atmosphere. Children under 12 are not permitted and when walking around you can understand why as there is so much water, with in places undefined lines between land and water. There is no cafe, but there is a toilet. Make sure you visit the new indoor gallery too. The info says allow one and a half hours, but we spent 3 hours enjoying the sculptures and the landscape. This is a must for those who love the combination of art and nature. An afternoon well spent.

We had a beautiful few hours wandering around the glorious garden and sculpture trail. So much is there without feeling overwhelming.
Our beasts of around 10 were absorbed by the variety of the sculptures (whilst running a lot,) as were we, just without pulses racing.
Friendly and fascinating.
Thank you.

Having been to the Sculpture Park a few days previously this is a good contrast. The grounds are beautiful and peaceful as it's strictly limited entry by pre booking. BBC Gardening magazine 2 for 1 works here. Parking very limited. You can follow the trail or wander and it's mainly on grass or gravel, narrow paths through shrubs. Nowhere to hide if it rains - which it did torrentially. A toilet in the middle, in a small house. Few places to sit.

Each sculpture is itemised in the booklet, along with price - some may have been sold already. Some are very clever, some too modern for our tastes.

The Hannah Peschar Sculpture Garden is a magical fairytale garden full of sculptures and plants, some so large they make you feel like you’ve turned into Thumbelina.

Just half an hour's drive from Gatwick Airport we discovered this secret garden filled with art, beautiful trees, and exotic plants. It was a most wonderful experience even on a grey day with a bit of drizzle of rain. We walked around the garden, following the map provided, and there was something wondrous to see around every bend of the trail. Regardless of if you love gardening or art more, this place will fulfill every need, and we cannot stress enough how pleasant the visit was.

Tickets have to be bought online before the visit and they are not open every day of the week so check the website before going.

This is an amazing place. A tranquil garden with wonderful sculptures. If you enjoy looking at different, unusual sculptures made with a variety of different materials and textures, this is the place to go. The gardens have paths that lead you to the sculptures. Do visit if you can.

Step out of your car into tranquility and breathe CALM. We spent approx 3 hours meandering through the woodland glades and craggy steps leading to fairy glen pathways and watering holes. Delve into their guide and tour the gardens taking in the fascinating sculptures and artistic installations. For those of you with deep pockets they are all for sale! Our little dogs enjoyed themselves ( kept on leads) and are tired out now. The only thing missing was a tea room - we purchased a hot drink for a few pounds but ideally you bring your own picnic & rest amongst the beautiful backdrop. You can even stay on a dear little cottage over night (£?). Anthony who lives in the other delightful cottage is attentively caring for his back garden ( although the ponds need a little attention) . It’s a haven for wildlife and butterflies bees and dragon flies are living in harmony in their sanctuary.
Thoroughly recommend ! We used our gardeners world pass for two for one but well worth the entrance of ÂŁ15 if not.

This is one of the most magical places, a sensorial experience on multiple levels. The wooded landscape is quite simply enchanting, much enhanced by the vision, planting & work of extraordinary co-owner/designer Anthony Paul. The carefully considered setting of each exhibited sculpture is a masterclass in harmonious placement. There is a stimulating mix of styles, materials & talent which truly enhances the visit. Meandering along the twisting paths felt very much like stumbling into some timeless primal environment; absolutely loved it.
