About
OPEN FOR PRE-BOOKED TICKETS ONLY FOR 2021 Broadleaved and architectural plants, mature trees and ponds support, frame and enhance an ever changing collection of contemporary sculpture in the stunning garden that Hannah Peschar and Anthony Paul created over 35 years ago. The Sculpture Garden displays over 200 pieces by 50 plus artists from Britain & the rest of Europe every year; each carefully sited within the landscaped gardens. The placement of the sculpture is the key aspect that makes the garden so magical. A strong connection between art and nature is crucial; be it the way a plant frames the piece, how the piece accentuates the surrounding planting (such as the texture of the trees or the colour of the moss), or how a shaft of sunlight plays across the surface of the sculpture. Part of the joy is discovering pieces hidden in secluded parts of the garden; creating surprise and intrigue at every turn. The exhibition runs for 7 months over the spring, summer and autumn seasons.

Stagnant water
Jun 2021
overgrown walkways, stagnant ponds and pondweed completely covering all ponds-given this is a high tick area the walkways should be free ,they weren't and the poor condition of everything was attributed to "our gardener has a bad back"

Garden of revelations
May 2021 • Couples
Magical and continuously revealing. The skilful way the gardens are set out, revealing striking settings with sculpture and landscape combinations - one after the other.

Idyllic.

We had a beautiful few hours wandering around the glorious garden and sculpture trail. So much is there without feeling overwhelming.
Our beasts of around 10 were absorbed by the variety of the sculptures (whilst running a lot,) as were we, just without pulses racing.
Friendly and fascinating.
Thank you.

Sculpture park at its best
Sep 2020
A great place to visit, we were met with a great welcome and it got better wandering though woods and gardens discovering stunning sculptures on the way. Nice and peaceful away from the crowds is bliss. No cafe or coffee shop, but it has picnic areas to sit back and relax with a sandwich or two. Not ideal for those unsteady on there feet as there are some steep and bendy paths which could be quite slippery when wet. Definitely recommend a visit .

A Fascinating Garden
Sep 2020
This is an amazing place. A tranquil garden with wonderful sculptures. If you enjoy looking at different, unusual sculptures made with a variety of different materials and textures, this is the place to go. The gardens have paths that lead you to the sculptures. Do visit if you can.

Despite this being 20 minutes from where I live I’d never been but so glad I did. The grounds are rambling and show off some sculptures better than others but I will very happily return to see what’s still there and any new ones.

The ground is uneven and probably not suitable for people with mobility difficulties but it’s like an adventure discovering a new sculpture.

We visited on a lovely sunny day but it could be a bit slippery when wet.

Thank you for your great review, we are so pleased you enjoyed your visit. Being a natural garden, it does get a little slippery in places in wet weather. Even today's pouring rain there are visitors enjoying the garden, kitted out in wellies and waterproofs!

Enchanting Afternoon....
Aug 2020
We visited the sculpture garden on a very humid Saturday afternoon and didn't really know what to expect. We were stunned by the garden which is beautiful, it felt wild, we happily lost several hours exploring and enjoying the sculptures. The beautiful back drop really made the art more interesting seeing it in such a natural environment. We would highly recommend a visit, especially if you want to loose a few hours away from the hustle and bustle of real life.

Enjoyable visit
Jul 2020 • Family
A very enjoyable visit. The Gardens are well laid out with a meandering route which takes a couple of hours to wander around allowing plenty of time to admire the Gardens and the many sculptures (50+) on display. A peaceful place to visit. No cafe but picnics welcome in the picnic area. Prebooking required. Well worth dropping by if in the vicinity.

We spent a really great 2.5 hours walking around the garden and enjoying the sculptures. There were more sculptures than I expected and many to make you look at the price, although a bit out of my range.

We pre booked, after weeks of sun it decided today to rain. The weather almost added to the special feel of the beautiful gardens and sculptures. A visit is a must. Do go
