A magnificent Grade 1 Listed 17th Century Jacobean Mansion brought back to its former glory. The recent restoration has enabled us a fascinating chance to truly step back in time.Built in 1610, this stunning house has over 400 years of history; deaths, dirty deeds, suicides, it has seen the lot! It is a former court house for the "Hanging Judge Jeffreys" and it is said some of his victims still haunt the house! The house is open for tours on a Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday at 2pm & 3pm. It is said to be the most haunted house in Wales so for those who dare, come and join the Paranormal team on a Saturday night on a hunt for the spirits that inhabit the house!

A day to remember

Not living too far away we where fascinated by what we heard locally so decided to visit. On arrival we where met by the owner, you would swear she was as haunted as the house.

Mrs Bayley has created one of the best and most interesting experiences in North Wales, I have been twice now and will continue to visit as the house changes and becomes more and more charming. More collections and pieces are added and furniture is rearranged. It is very much a private house and has a homely feel, the history is... More

Once the National Trust get their hands on this, the mansion and grounds will be done up into some NT generic attraction with tea room, gift shop and flawless surroundings. At the moment, £10 will secure you an hour in Cornelia's house which to be fair, is an extension of Cornelia's mind. Her life is reflected through different rooms and... More

We visited yesterday on the bank holiday Monday and it was very popular, there were around 30 people for the 2pm tour. It’s a little strange on arriving as there are no signs to tell you where to go or anything but you have to wait at the front door will 2pm when the door is unlocked, glad it was... More

This house has a bit more about it than your usual 'National Trust country house'. There's lots of atmosphere and history, amid a very characterful environment.

This is a REALLY special place. It has been featured on the Country House Rescue programme and is owned and lived in by an extraordinary woman who single handedly saved it from ruin and is almost a recluse, in fact, a real life Miss Haversham. The National Trust will eventually take it over but see it NOW while it is... More

Myself and my partner went to visit this wonderful mansion and were lucky enough to have a private tour and even met the owner. The history of the place is magnificent, a beautiful and interesting house with a character. Felt like I was on a film set and had gone back in time. A little eery in some rooms and... More

We went here for a mothers day out. Couldn't reccomend this place enough. The owner is such a lovely and interesting women who is quite unusual with a lot of stories to tell. The building is amazing with lots of antiques. There are a lot of cats around and the lady of the house owns a lot of birds. Some... More

I visited Plas Teg on a wild and windy winter's sunday afternoon. I went with two friends, one of whom definitely has psychic powers. It really is fun. A lovely jacobean house and all credit to Cornelia Bayley for all the work she has put in over the years to restore it. A true labour of love. Our guide Danny... More

This is a beautiful house with such an amazing atmosphere. People need to come here with respect for the house and its owner. I have recently been on a paranormal experience night here which was very enjoyable and my thanks go out to the team and the owner for letting us spend some time in her stunning home. Having experienced... More
