The castle is very beautiful, but as it usually happens the best view is from the neighbouring fields. The castle is up the hill and there are 2 options to get there from the parking: either by a shuttle bus or on foot (20min). Do...More

The castle is around 45 minutes from Stuttgart and makes for a good day trip. There is parking provided but costs $2. (Note that if you arrive at a quieter time there is very limited free roadside parking as you drive up the hill before...More

This is a lovely castle with beautiful views. Get there early and take the short bus ride up to the top. Buy your tickets at the car park before you go up. There is a nice outdoor cafe where you can enjoy coffee and snacks....More

As an amateur photographer and history person this was an ideal place for me. I was in heaven here as I looked at every nook and cranny, wondered how life was back in those days. I just sat in the Biergarten and enjoyed the clear...More

There are multiple castles in Germany, but this is one of the better. Still associated with the last Royal family of Germany. Castle is atop a very steep hill. So you need to pay for parking and then pay for the shuttle bus to bring...More

This was my first European castle and it did not disappoint. Wear socks as they give you fuzzy slippers to wear during the inside tour. The panoramic views from the castle perimeter are breathtaking. If you are nearby this can not be missed!

One of the best preserved castles in Germany. The castle is located on a hill about 855m). You get an awesome view and fresh air from the top. There are two ways to get to the castle from the ticketing entrance. 1 is to take...More

This is a beautiful castle to visit. You are able to see miles and miles from the top. We took the bus up rather than walking the steep hill. The trip itself to view the inside of the castle was a bit pricey as well...More

This is a beautiful "new" castle and totally worth a visit. The hike up the hill to the castle is absolutely gorgeous and the scenery really added to my enjoyment of the whole experience. I even saw a fire salamander! We saw a play in...More

We went in fantastic weather and enjoyed the extensive 360 degree view around. The castle is impressive in size and style. This ancestral seat of Prussia has a fantastic history and is well worth a visit. The mini bus to the top had big queues...More

There are plenty of taxis available and I have seen many buses going to a from the attractions. If you do not see a taxi at the train station, look for flyer or advertisements for them. They are usually very easy to find.

We have spent quite a few winters and falls in Germany. We love it and are from Chicago. The attractions are not all open, but a lot of them are and are not as busy. That's one reason we love it so much.
