We stayed in September - in a lovely position right on the river and a few minutes walk into village centre. Beautiful gardens and river front great for fishing or just watching the boats go past. However, the cottage itself is in great need of attention. I understand that it has been renovated in keeping with the period of the house but it is not in great condition anymore, its is clean but needs maintenance. Lots of rubbish piled up out side as you approach the house doesn't give a good first impression. The shower in the main bathroom is nearly impossible to use as the curtain will not pull round to stop the water going onto the bathroom floor. The shower room in the master bedroom is very small! No WI-FI was a problem - we hadn't realised that there wasn't any until we arrived - most places have it now. Although great location I would not stay here again unless the house whad t nowas updated and maintained.

We had a great day out here. The who family enjoyed the boat ride to the house were I bought my 3 year old son and I a day ticket so we could go on all the trains an unlimited time which he loved. They had 2 different sit on layouts and then 1 which kids can control with a remote. There was also a short straight stretch which children (or adults) can have a go at driving a train. My 3 year old loved it, I just wish we lived closer as it was a great day out.

Called in on one of their running days. Not really into "knees under the chin" railways but my grandson loved it and I have to admit, so did I. Lovely site and a lot of good work done. The museum is excellent.

Had a great day! Such a huge collection of trains. You can see a lot of work has gone into the place and what a great bunch of volunteers.
