Fantastic countryside and wineries to visit
Feb 2019
This region of Chile is superb. The countryside is undulating and when the sun is shining which it often is the area comes alive with splendor and grace. There are wineries that must be enjoyed when you are in this part of the country, beautiful establishment which ooze professionalism and success.

Stunning views
Jul 2019 • Couples
Went before lunch time. Stunning vies from the terrace.

The satff is super friendly. They should offer a few tapas to go along with the amazing wines you can try by glass.

A must when in Casa Blanca

Great drive - irrigated vineyards
Mar 2019
It looked pretty dry but the vineyards are irrigated and feature many grape varieties. A nice break between Valparaiso and Santiago. Well worth the diversion - so much the better if you stop off to sample the products!

Good wines, expensive tastings
Jan 2019
You have to make appointments for all the wineries as they want to sell you the tours. Other wineries in the world waive the tasting fee if you buy their wine, but not here.

Confusing
Jul 2018 • Friends
Confusing route. There are no maps or any bits of information regarding where to go. Once you show up at a place, they all need "reservations". For what? Nearly all the places had 75 workers talking, doing literally NOTHING. So disappointing. No wonder Argentina is walking away with the wine trails....

Nice but needs to dedicate more to serving tourists
Aug 2018 • Solo
Don't rely on the map of the wine route. Buy a real map before you go. Also, the opening hours are frequently wrong. Call head to make sure they will be open. Hopefully, in the near future, the local businesses will realize that tourism is important.

There are numerous wineries in this beautiful valley of vines Chile are one of the Worlds major exports We visited one on our bus tour This was a such a lovely winery with character The wine itself was nice but not what we prefer Everyone’s got different tastes so you may love their reds & whites We did like some of the Chilean wine we tried elsewhere

April - season starts
Apr 2018 • Couples
We had such a luck with the weather during our wine tour here. Especially for the white wine I am fan of, we had the pleasure to got a few good wines from last year during the ride. The snacks were important to not get drunk immediately, but after the tour our group was quite tipsy. Now, what happened afterwards was to enjoy a delicious lunch and more wine. Very well organized, I think as Chile is pretty European, fun driver and delicious wine and food. If you're looking into knowing more about the gastronomy of Chile, come here.

Menu degustation was my treat choice on Valentine's day
Feb 2018 • Solo
Two attractions brought me back to Casas del Bosque: their Sauvignon blanc was listed as the best in Casablanca valley and their special Valentine's meals. Lunch started at the bar with delicious oysters accompanied by a glass of Sauvignon Grand Reserve. I decided to choose the menu degustation rather than the Valentine's interesting offers. The fish came from Juan Fernandez, there were pearls of passion fruit that looked and tasted like caviar, delicious meat and fruity ice cream. Every dish was married by their recommended selection of wines.

You don't need an organised tour to enjoy the Casablanca wine region!
Nov 2017 • Couples
My partner and I got a bus (CLP280) from the centre of Valpo to the bus station. From there we caught a bus to the centre plaza in Casablanca, operated by Tur bus, for CLP1000. The bus we got left at 12:55pm. We then got a taxi to Emiliana Vineyard for CLP6000. The taxis charge CLP400 per rural km, so for a ballpark figure of how much your taxi would cost check the kms between the centre plaza and the winery you wish to visit. There is a taxi stand at the plaza, so it's easy to find a ride!
We arrived at Emiliana Vineyard at 2:20pm, and without a reservation managed to get on the 2:30pm tour. This lasted around an hour and 10 minutes and cost CLP16000, with tastings of four wines at the end (2 whites and 2 reds, all yum!). The tour price seemed a bit steep to us but hey, YOLO.
After we finished the tour we bought a bottle of the wine we liked (CLP6990, though cheaper are available) and went to eat our packed lunch under the trees. Emiliana has beautiful grounds, so even if you don't want to do a tour I'd recommend buying a bottle of wine and enjoying the sunshine here!
Once the place had closed and we were the last ones left, we asked the lovely people at the winery (who speak fantastic English) to call us a taxi, and this taxi back cost CLP5000. We then waited at the centre plaza for around 5 minutes for a bus going to Valpo, which cost us CLP1000 each.
All in all a really nice outing for less than the price of an organised tour! Easy peasy!
