We expected to visit a large Chilean winery during our trip to Chile, the country with the largest wine production in South America and one of the ten largest wine producing countries in the world.
On January 6, 2025 we went to Matetic vineyards. Visiting a small winery in the Casablanca region was a great and pleasant surprise. A very well-kept place surrounded by friendly and efficient staff.
The simple but glamorous structure of the hotel and restaurant contrasts with the modern architecture of the wine fermentation and barrel rest area. Incredible architecture that does not harm the local nature.
Our guide Camilo was very important during our visit. His great knowledge combined with friendliness managed to show his passion for the values and qualities of the winery, especially regarding environmental issues. Mantetic remains faithful to its main value, which is the production of quality wines without harming the environment.
We were all able to understand the importance of organic and biodynamic production. Losses in production happen, but the long-term gain for the planet is priceless.

Wow the grounds of this Vineyard/Hotel/restaurant are GORGEOUS! We went in late October and the flowers were in full bloom it was heavenly! We sat outside the wine shop basking in the sun and took a tasting of both reds and whites and really enjoyed the wines. We even took our last glass of wine with us and walked around the grounds to take some phenomenal photos of the rows of grape plants, the flowers, and beautiful entry way to hotel La Casona. It was so peaceful and serene and while we did not eat, it looked like the restaurant was full of content customers. Overall we had a fabulous time trying the wines and enjoying the peaceful garden like setting. Highly recommend!

My wife and I started our 2 week vacation at the Matetic Vinyards, our room in the hacienda was lovely. The food and wine were phenomenal. We toured the vineyards on horseback with our guide Crecho. What a wonderful time. The restaurant at lunch is especially great and the person at the desk (can't remember his name) was most helpful. I would recommend it for a stay or for lunch. Before leaving Chile we purchased some of their EQ brand wine.

We stayed at Indomo, which is part of Matetic rooms. They are domes or tiny cabins. Simple with just beds inside and outside private bathroom/shower. They dont tell you that those are 11 kms from the main property and restaurant. Also the signage for the entrance is minimal and we drove past twice before finding it. The doors of the domo and shower were warped and only opened half way. Definitely someone is not paying attention to maintenace. The good side is that everyone was friendly and provided ggod service, a rarity in Chile. If I returned it would probably be to the hotel on the main property. But great wines.

Matetic Vineyard is very particular. We were a group of 4 that got late because the GPS took is to a different part of the Vineyard ( it seems that they offered horse back rides and other activities). Anyways we got there and were informed or reservation was no longer valid. We waited about an hour for the next your which was "cheaper" and had one less glass of wine to be tasted. The front desk personnel could improve their service as they were not nice. We would've purchased more items or tested more wines but they send like they didn't want to work. Anyways we paid $13,000 pesos (about $20US) each...meaning $80 total. We ended up getting a " private" your ad we were the only ones waiting. Our guide was nice and sort of improved the experience although at the end we could tell he was ready to go. The fee besides the tour barely included a sip of wine ( I am not kidding) probably two sips and that was it. Out of all the wine tastings and vists we did in Chile this was the worst. The wine was surprisingly good though so we ended up buying the Pinot Noir which was fantastic and made the visit worth it. I truly hope they improve the service (specially the ladies in the front desk)as they could get more visitors.

Stunning and unique vineyard in the Casablanca Valley, north of Santiago. Fascinating tour that explained the organic and biodynamic method wine making. Wines are total awesome!

We were given a private tour (just two of us, plus our driver) of the main operational area of the vineyard, with lovely views across the property. It was early spring, so it was quiet, but our guide was knowledgeable (if new) and pleasant, with excellent English. It was a great contrast to the other vineyard, smaller, more boutique, we'd just visited.

We enjoyed a very tasty lunch at Matetic midweek and found it very peaceful. We enjoyed a glass each of their Savignon Blanc and Chardonnay and the waiter kindly split the glasses so we could both get a taste of each .We ordered a delicious Ceviche to share I had the Octopus and my husband Abalone. A well presented and very tasty lunch, service was excellant I would highly recommend.

We are so glad we came to visit Matetic Vineyards. I have been to several vineyards in Chile, but this was far and away my favorite. Though small, it is a charming establishment, loyal to its organic and biodynamic "roots". We took a tour with Conni, who was knowledgeable, passionate, and trilingual (managed to speak Spanish, English, and Portuguese for our small tour group!). We learned a lot about the vineyard and wine making in general from her. We also did an "EQ" tastings (we were walk-ins, signed up the day of). The wines were incredible I only wished we could try more! The Syrah, Pinot Noirs, and the quartz Chardonnays were particularly remarkable. They also have a Corallilo tasting, but their EQ line is more upscale and more appropriate for a vineyard wine tasting. After the tour and tasting, we went over to the campus on property for lunch at Equilibrio restaurant and a tour of the gardens. The landscape was truly stunning. Would recommend to any and all visitors of Central Chile (as well as locals looking for a fabulous day out!).

The visit has been organized by Turistic tours and everything has been timely executed. The vineyard is beautifully located, the tour has been most interesting and detailed. The restaurant in the premises cozy, very good service, nice food. The suggested menu nice a bid on the expensive side. Wine testing was very good, I would welcome the addition of a sparkling wine.

Anyone know the best way to reach the hotel? I emailed and they never responded. My husband and I are planning a trip to Chile in late March/ early April. We were thinking of staying at this vineyard for a few nights instead of in Santiago city. We will not be renting a car, and wondered if all meals would be easily available on site? I am a vegetarian (no fish, poultry, or meat but I do eat eggs, dairy). Any information folks have would be appreciated.
