Just a short walk from one of the entrances of the Akiyoshi Limestone Cave, on a clear day the scenery seems endless. Great for a stroll and an educational opportunity to learn about geology.

Took the lift to visit here while visiting cave. Huge area. There is a viewing gallery for a better view. Glad I visited.

Connected to akiyoahidai by an elevator which is actually located in the cave. Entrance fee is included together with Akiyoahidai ticket. Beautiful autumn view.

Burn down an entire forest, Kill all wildlife (birds frogs deer monkeys rodents), call it a beautiful park, sell it as a tour bus stop to see limestone rocks. This is scorched earth. Go figure. Never in a million years would I ever expect to...More

Interesting place to hike around. I probably wasn't supposed to, but I took my bicycle out and nobody stopped me. Granted, I didn't see any signs saying I couldn't do that either.

Huge and amazing karst landscape in this area. There are actually hiking trails all the way across the landscape but be prepared to spend a few hours since the area is pretty big. Feels nice and quiet in the middle of the plateau, which also...More

Free of charge, but 20min (by car) away from nearest train station (Mine Station). Either go by car or by bus. Bus schedule and fares can be found here: http://english.karusuto.com/html/access/ The observatory gives a beautiful view of the Akiyoshidai. The mountain range seems to go...More
