This information office is located at the concourse of JR Hofu station, and you can get basic information about the tourist attractions of the city. I didn’t use that service, but they also rent a bicycle. If you go to Mori Garden, for example, you can think about that option.

Wow! As an English only speaker I was amazed at how fluid in English the gentleman at the desk was. He’s also, of course, very knowledgeable and helpful. There are maps in different languages if Hofu’s attractions with main routes already highlighted and very clear. I picked up the Japanese one as well so I could match signage if necessary.
I’m staying in Japan for a few months and was very impressed with Hofu. There are outstanding places to visit. They aren’t crowded. All the townspeople and merchants are very friendly. I’ll be catching the train back to visit soon. I walked everywhere but there are taxis right outside the jr train station
