Lovely little park overlooking the Yamagata Valley

Billed as the largest "Torii" (Gate) in Japan, it was built in the Meiji Era out of a single stone. We enjoyed sheltering under in the shade of the summer heat but I'm sure that if you are lucky enough to be in the area during cherry blossom time or the autumn foliage.
