At the Kumano Kodokan, located at the starting point of Nakahechi, I learned about the Kumano Kodo as a whole and the outline of each of its highlights, and visited the nearby Takijiri Oji Shrine. After that, I went to see Ushi-Uma-Doji. I used Google Maps, which led me to the closest place to Ushi-Uma-Doji. I parked my car on the side of the road and walked about 100 meters along the mountain path, where I found Ushi-Uma-Doji. I saw a news report a long time ago about how his head had been torn off, but now his face is normal. However, am I the only one who thinks he looks like he is in pain or dissatisfied? Ushi-Uma-Doji is surrounded by forest, and the surrounding area has a very mystical atmosphere. Ushi-Uma-Doji is a recommended spot.

Can be easily walked to from bus stop, or as part of the much longer Nakahechi route of Kumono Kodo. A little oasis of reverence from bygone days.

From nearby Michino Eki Kumano Kodo Nakaheji, it's about half an hour walk to the Gyu-Ba Douji Statue. It's a small statue and recently damaged by some brutals. If you have a good imagination about the past, then this is a must visit.
