A short visit to this village would let me imagine how was the life of ancient Japanese. The architect was unique with white walls with burned black wood. There were also good Japanese sake and sake cups at the local shop. Recommended!

Shirakabe Dozogun Akagawara made me feel that I come back to the old era. The Black and white houses are charming. There are a lot of cute handmade Souvenirs.
The Sumo museum is also interesting. There ae several picture of traditional sumo and items. This place is full of story in the past. I like this one.

If you plan to visit Tottori Prefecture, I recommend you to drop in Kurayoshi City. There is traditional street. This area is famous for red color roof tiles called "Sansyu-gawara". So you can see old store house with red color roof tiles. And you can fun Japanese sake and healthy Japanese dishes etc.

The whole of Kurayoshi has the feel of 'real' Japan. These warehouses are a great place to visit with some huge fish to see and some great local eateries. I'd recommend the sweet potato chips from the main shop and the Kurayoshi beer!

Traditional buildings from the Edo Period to the Meiji Era are well-preserved. Visitors should enjoy the quite and peaceful environment while strolling around.

Traditional streets, small rivers, interesting shops, cute children.

This is the first time I visited it. Everything here is so slow and quiet. We tried to visit some shops and found a lot of interesting goods. For example, container made by bamboos, wool felt kits, and so on. The local people are very kind ,too. They said hello to us. Japanese Emperor’s granddaughter had visited here, too.

I live in Saijo (a very famous place for Sake, i.e. the capital of Sake), but this place has a totally different atmosphere. The place is so scenic. And one of the evidence is that 80% of the visitors on the day I came there was female. (no sexist though). Not just sake, the carps here look funny and have the scent of intelligence~ compared to the peaceful style of carps in Hiroshima. And there are more than just sake in this town (I am not a big fan of sake), If it had not been for my friends waiting, I could stay for 1 hour tossing the "laughing cat" toy there :)) my poverty would not allow me to bring that crazily cute cat home :))

Kurayoshi White Wall Street. It is a quiet village but there are interesting things. There is a museum about Sumo to learn. And there are shops that are unique to buy souvenirs.

Walking the streets gives you an old-Japan feel. It would be helpful if you have someone to explain to you the history of the area.
