阿波池田駅を出ると、目の前にアーケードがあります。
アーケードの下はなんと片側１車線の県道で、バスも走っています。交通量はあまり多くないですが、意外とスピードを出して走っているので、注意が必要です。
商店街ですが、営業しているお店は少なく、しもた屋も多いので、人通りもまばらで寂しいです。

阿波池田駅の正面にある商店街。アーケードになっています。歩行者専用道路ではなく、バスも商店街を通っています。入口にビジネスホテル、ビジネスホテルの隣に老舗の羊羮屋さんがあります。

残念ですが寂れてしまった商店街です。多くの店がシャッターが閉まったままになっています。特に見るべきものもありませんが、昔ながらの商店街の雰囲気を感じることは出来るかもしれません。

阿波池田駅前にある、アーケードの商店街。
人通りの少ないアーケード内をバスが走る風景も驚きですが、あちこちに灰皿があります。なんと、いまどき図書館前のバス停にまで灰皿があり、「禁煙より分煙を目指せ、分煙先進国！」なんて正気とは思えないシールが貼られています。
受動喫煙防止に分煙は効果がなく、完全禁煙しかないことはＷＨＯも勧告している通りで、禁煙でなく分煙を進めるなんて先進国のやることじゃありません。
こちらの方たちは受動喫煙の害によほど無知か、全く無視しているかのどちらかなのでしょう。

JR土讃線阿波池田駅前。正面にあるアーケード街です。
よくある地方のアーケード街で、他の街と同様、シャッターを閉めている店が多かったです。
しかし、このアーケードが珍しいのが、昼間でもアーケードの中をどんどん車が走行していること。結構大きなトラックも走行していました。何の為のアーケードなのかな。

阿波池田駅前から続くアーケード街です。むしろ一般道の上にアーケードを付けたような感じで、普通に自動車が通っていました。うだつの街歩きに向う際、通ったのですが、商店街とは程遠く営業している店舗も僅かで人通りも閑散としていました。

昔はにぎわいのあった商店街ですが、今はシャッターの降りている店舗が増え閑散としています。
何か違う形でもまた復活しほしいなぁと思っています。

阿波池田駅の目の前のアーケードの商店街です。ホテルや飲食店も有ります。ただお店も通る人も少ないので寂しく感じます。

阿波池田駅の駅前から伸びる商店街。クルマが通る普通の道路であるがアーケードになっている。訪れたのは土日だったが多くの店が閉まっていた。他の地方都市と同様ここもシャッター通りとなりつつあるのであろうか。

池田を通るときに必ず通る道です。商店街なのに道です。あっという間に通り過ぎてしまいます。お店も開いているお店があるのか？というくらい暗い空間になっています。。阿波踊りの時は賑わうのかな？
