地域のかたが使われるのか遊具やゲートボール場がありました。老人ホームの方も車で来られていたので、ゆっくりしたいかたにはいいですね。

宇比多伎山の峰に鎮座されている主祭神の容姿と心の美しさに恋焦がれた大国主命が朝になると妻問いに通われたことが「朝山」と付けられた所以だそうです。
出雲市駅からバス(須谷医院前)で来ると下の鳥居から３０分くらい歩くので、近年整地された林道を車で登るほうをお勧めます。
木の温もりが溢れ、古びたところに神々しさを感じます。祭事以外は無人で賽銭箱の脇に「御朱印をお求めの方はー」と説明(スタンプの写真に記載)がありました。

大国主大神が毎朝通ったことからこの地域は「朝山」というらしいです。単純な理由ですが何か良いですね。神社自体はこじんまりとしていますがその分落ち着いた雰囲気があり、のんびりできました。また神社の横から歩いてすぐに展望台があり、朝山の景色を一望することができます。さらに展望台から滝を見に行ける遊歩道もありますがこちらはあまり整備されておらず、肝心の滝も木が邪魔で少ししか見えませんでした。

神在祭の時に、神様が出雲大社より前に寄る神社。
大国主様が毎朝通ったから朝山というらしいです。
車で行きましたら、街道からの道が細くてうねうね。
前から来てもすれ違い出来ないし、後ろからこられてもご迷惑かけるしー、の気づかい運転。
わりと出雲はこういうとこあるんですけど、ドキドキ。途中で気持ちがおれても、Uターンもできない。
鳥居の先に駐車場があってやっと方向転換できました。
神社は無人で清楚な感じ。才色兼備にご利益があるそうです。
お祭りの時はみなさんどうやっていらっしゃるのでしょうか。
もう、少し上がると日本海がチラッと見える展望スペースがあります。

出雲大社から約３０分ほど走ると朝山神社に到着します。
社号碑を過ぎてから道は狭くなり、対向車が来るとどちらかが譲らないと厳しいです。そこを過ぎると朝山公園の駐車場があり隣に朝山神社が鎮座しています。
駐車場は朝山神社の専用駐車場もありますが、どちらに駐車しても問題はなさそうです。
境内の様子は人気が少ない割には雰囲気は良いです。
トイレは朝山公園にあります。
