I stopped by on my way home from visiting a shrine. The all-you-can-drink wine tasting corner continues to be popular. At other wineries such as Yamanashi, the free tastings are often for just one drink, for groups, or have the staff pour the wine into a glass for you, but at Shimane Winery, you can freely sample the products on sale, including new releases, as you like. The unique feature is that you can sample as many types and as many glasses as you like for free. The original grape juice, which comes with free refills for children and drivers, is also delicious. On the other hand, before the coronavirus, there were a lot of sweets and seafood in the souvenir corner, and it was a paradise for tasting many souvenir sweets, including famous San'in sweets and original products, for free, but due to the influence of the coronavirus, now There will be no food tasting, so the charm of this place will be less than half. In China and Taiwan, you sometimes see tourist souvenir shops like this, but they are not exaggerated and are a food tasting paradise like no other in Japan. I hope for the revival of

Went here as part of a half day tour.
Herded through to the restaurant for lunch which was average at best....don't waste your time with this.
The souvenir shop has free wine tasting from bowls which you ladle into plastic cups.
If you're looking for the decent stuff go to the wine tasting counter. You have to pay between 100 - 400 yen per sample but you're trying the superior quality Shimane wines.

This facility is located about 10 minutes by car from Izumo Taisha Shrine, where Shimane's famous products return. It is relatively spacious inside, and there are many souvenirs to buy.
In the back of the building, there is a tasting corner where you can drink juice made from Shimane's famous grapes. It was self-service and so tasty that children could not stop drinking it. Of course, you can also buy some as souvenirs.
The most surprising thing was that wine was also available at the free wine tasting corner. This is great for adults who don't drive. We did a paid tasting.
I also bought croquettes made from Shimane Wagyu beef from the kitchen car at the entrance, that was a great snack for the trip.

Hmmm what to say...food overpriced and very average restaurant service no comment.Place you will go eat once only. Not worth of its price.Wine good selection and possible to do tasting.Nature around and place is nice though.Recommending eat somewhere else before visiting winery to avoid disappointment

We visited the winery as part of a bus tour of the area from Hiroshima.
Very impressed with the set up, there was self serve wine tasting and cheese and you could basically have as much as you wanted , very generous. What I tasted was good and there was also a nice non alcoholic wine. There was also a very nice shop selling all sorts of products as well as a big variety of wine. Well worth a visit.
