I visited with my daughter, who is in the fourth grade of elementary school. There are various attractions inside, so you can enjoy it without freezing even in winter. There are attractions that both children and adults can enjoy, so we were able to have a good time together as a family. I think you can enjoy everything in about 2 hours. Also, since we visited in the morning, we had breakfast at a restaurant near the entrance, which was very delicious. This time, we visited after sightseeing at Hikone Castle, but my daughter said that she enjoyed this place more.

I've never seen him as excited in his two years of life as when we entered the first exhibition room (with the tractors you can ride). 99% of the time we understand what he is talking about but he started pointing at everything and was so excited his language skills completely disappeared.
Needless to say, we were very pleased as parents.

We went to the Yanmar museum with five kids in tow (from 12 to baby). They all had a fantastic time. The museum is very hands on - you can use a digger, drive a motorboat, climb on a combine. The information is in Japanese and in English. Very informative and relevant.

It seems to be a popular facility, with many visitors from outside the prefecture, and it is sure to be crowded on weekends and holidays, so it is best to make a reservation in advance before visiting.
On the day I visited, the parking lot inside the building was full, and there was an employee parking lot nearby, about a 2-minute walk away. was guided by. It seems like you don't have to worry about parking even when it's crowded.
First, you are shown an introductory video of the founder, Mr. Magokichi Yamaoka, in a mini-theater, and to be honest, this is the most interesting. Not only was the lighting and production elaborate, but he was also a great man who could be made into a biography or movie. The greatness of Yanmar's corporate philosophy was clearly conveyed.
However, that was all that impressed me.Although the number of visitors inside the museum was up to the upper grades of elementary school, there were several attractions that could only be enjoyed by preschoolers, so I made the most of the two hours I was given. I think people can only enjoy it until they are in the lower grades of elementary school.
Aside from the small number of attractions, parents can participate in the attractions just by accompanying their children, but since it was crowded, almost all parents only watched their children and spent the rest on their smartphones. There were many people doing so.
It feels like parents who just follow along without doing anything are being charged an admission fee, so I think indoor game centers are better because they have more attractions and you can play your favorite games.
Although the point card can be used on repeat visits and there is a system that allows you to accumulate points, there is a question mark as to whether there are attractions that will please children when they return.

The agricutlrural equipment are explained in a very friendly manner. for everyone to understand. Adults like kids can enjoy and learn a lot from the explanations.
Operating the boat on a fixed course was also very nice and enjoyable.
Learning the history of Mr. Yamaoka, the founder of Yanmar is extremely interesting.

Yanmar is a well-known diesel engine and machines manufacturer Japan-wide and worldwide. It was the first company that invented and commercialised the world's first smallest diesel engine since the 1930s.
Thus, its museum did tell me how engine really is as well as very well-established sections gave me an overview and detailed process of agricultural mechinsation in Japan with all related Yanmar-made machines and technologies (robot tractor, combine harvester, rice transplanter, helicopter, excavator, yacht,...)
The hands-on sections will let you and your children be an operator (on agri machines, yacht, excavator,...), you also can have so cute badge that is made by yourself.
