The statue of Li Naomasa, founder of Hikone, was erected in front of JR train station of Hikone. Visitors would take photos here prior to proceed to the castle.

Once off the train and heading for the castle you are met by this impressive statue of one of the 'founding fathers' of Hikone; a man responsible for making Hikone an important castle.

An NHK 2017 drama figure A stones throw out the west exit of Hikone train station Nice statue. I saw the NHK Taiga drama regarding the Ii clan so it was great to see the statue.
