This beautiful building used to be a bank, which functioned until recently. Now it is open to public for free, and we can see its nostalgic main hall, reception rooms, safe etc. You can also hold up 100,000,000 yen imitation money and experience its weight.

Interesting to see bank teller cage from 100+ years ago (!) City of Karatsu is good at reserving this type of western style of building in old days.

Very close to Karatsu Station. You can learn history of Karatsu during early Meiji Ara and several works of Architect Tatsuno from this area who also designed Tokyo Station. Free of Charge!
