聖徳太子建立の寺院

大阪府羽曳野市にある聖徳太子所縁の高野山真言宗の仏教寺院。
府道堺羽曳野線沿いに建ち、無料駐車場が有ります、入場料も無料です。
非常に歴史の有るお寺で元々は広大な境内だった様ですが、現在はこじんまりとした落ち着いた雰囲気のお寺です。
お寺裏の墓地には、浄瑠璃や歌舞伎で有名な「お染久松」のお墓があります。
国重要文化財の金銅弥勒菩薩半跏像は18日に開帳です。

野中寺の山茶花

毎年11月には全国に山茶花の古木を訪ね歩いていますが、今回は大阪羽曳野市に野中寺を訪問しました。野中寺は蘇我馬子が開基と言われる古刹ですが、江戸時代に歌舞伎・浄瑠璃に取り上げられた「お染久松」の主人公の•お染・久松の墓があることでも有名です。野中寺の山茶花は樹齢約300年で「お染久松」の舞台となった天王寺屋から二人の供養のために移植されたと言われています。今年は夏の暑さが山茶花の開花に影響したのか、一輪の花しか見ることができませんでしたが、お寺の方のお話では11月中旬から12月上旬にかけて白い花を枝一杯に咲かせるそうです。

野中寺は、聖徳太子の命を受け、蘇我馬子が建立したと伝えられている。境内は国指定史跡で、復元された中門を入ると、金堂跡、塔跡があり、飛鳥時代の雰囲気を味わえる。
白鳳期の金銅弥勒菩薩半跏像や平安期の木造地蔵菩薩立像は重要文化財に指定され毎月18日に拝観できる。また、浄瑠璃や歌舞伎の定番の演目になっている「お染久松の
墓」が墓地内に残っている。

「中の太子」とも呼ばれているかつての大寺院です

野中寺と書いて「やちゅうじ」と読みます。聖徳太子と蘇我馬子が創建したと伝承されている寺院。町中ですが意外と静かで落ち着いた雰囲気の寺院です。竹内街道と云う奈良から大阪に続く太古の官道に面して南大門を配置している。叡福寺が「上の太子」大聖勝軍寺が「下の太子」と呼ばれているのに対してここは中の太子と呼ばれています。現存の堂宇だけではなく、境内には金堂跡や塔の址が残っており飛鳥時代にはさぞかし立派な寺院であったことがうかがえる。国の指定史跡にもなっています。

間近で拝める白鳳仏

　門前に駐車場が８台分ぐらいあり、車で参拝するには便利です。
　１８日のご開帳はぜひフジ井寺と道明寺と併せてご参拝ください。
　こちらの仏様は弥勒菩薩で、半跏像です。下ろしている足は蓮台にかけていらっしゃるので珍しいなあと思っていましたが、帰って図録を見ると、中宮寺の弥勒菩薩像も蓮台に足をかけていらっしゃいました。弥勒菩薩像ではよくある像形なのでしょうか。
　ともかく、こちらのお寺ではていねいにご説明くださり、鼻息がかかるほどの間近で拝めるので、感動的な出会いを味わえます。
　お寺の方は、以前、大正時代ねつ造説があったためか、このお像の由緒の正しさを強調されていましたが、そんなことよりもこのお像の美しさはひきいれられるようで、古さは別として思惟する姿の美しさを我々に教えてくれるようです。
　ぜひ一度は拝観したいお像です。

墓地が広いのかな？外壁って言うのかな？周りぐる～と歩いたら、けっこうな時間かかりました(汗)竹内街道の近所なので、散歩がてら、すぐ横は、木が茂っているので夏は、涼めると思います。

お染久松の墓

今日は古市古墳群がらみのドライブ。野中寺には近くの古墳から発掘された石棺が置かれていて、直に触れられるので訪問した。いつもは気づかない寺務所近くには宝物館や庭園もあるようだし、お染久松の墓もあり、結構な広さがある。歌舞伎でよく演じられるお染久松の悲話はここでは現実のものとして墓に二人の名前が、天王寺屋の屋号とともに刻まれていて、事実は小説より奇なりを実感する。

太子ゆかり

西国薬師霊場巡りの一環として初めて行きましたが、幹線道路に面していました。聖徳太子の命令で蘇我馬子が造営したといいます。ご本尊の薬師如来座像は秘仏ですが、毎月十八日には弥勒菩薩像や地蔵菩薩立像、樹齢300年の山茶花が拝観できるそうです。

昔の栄華を偲びましょう

聖徳太子ゆかりの寺院、「中之太子」です。入山料は無料、塔の礎石や、金堂跡が観れます。付近には、竹内街道が通っているので、それを東に行くと、白鳥陵があります。

由緒正しいお寺です
