I should be up front: I always liked the Tower of the Sun, I thought it was weird but it was also unique and it had character. It wasn't practical, it wasn't advertising, it was just this big THING and I really dug that. So when they restored the internal exhibit and reopened it to the public, I was psyched to find out what was inside after all these years. Turns out, not much: just more art, really, along with a conceptual representation of the Tree of Life. But for me, a fan of the exterior, I loved seeing it all.
Take note: there are a LOT of stairs going up into the tower and then coming back down, and no photos are allowed once you start climbing. There is an elevator if you require one, but you have to ask for it in advance.

This is a huge park with various facilities such as sports facilities, children's playgrounds, beautiful flower gardens, park, barbeque section, museums, observation towers and Expocity a large shopping centers with hundreds of outlets.

That's why it is advisable to see a map after entering the main gate near Monorail Station. Because if you do not know your aim and direction here, it will waste time and get nothing.

Don't miss to take a photo in front of the 70 meter Tower of The Sun which is the icon of the Park called the Osaka Expo 70 Commemorative Park. The strange and unique shape of the tower is nice for photo spots.

Entrance ticket is ¥ 250 free with Osaka Amazing Pass.
The closest station to Expo 70 is Senri Chuo Station, change with Osaka Monorail stop at Bampaku Kinen Koen Station.

We traveled a bit to get to the park. The park itself is nice but not special. We were not aware that you had to have reservations to enter the tower. The entire park was empty but without reservations it seemed nothing was possible. We also attempted to eat at the BBQ section but after much back-and-forth we finally figured out that they could not figure out how to serve us.

It's blasphemy to say so in Osaka but...the tower is just ugly. The park however is definitely worth it.

I went there for a day with a friend and loved it!
Booking has to be done in advance 1 week at least but it's easy.
The park surrounding it has lots of green and/or open areas and arriving there is very easy witht he train and tranway.

The tower(towerofthesun) in Suita City, Osaka Prefecture is a building built at the time of Osaka Expo.

The tower produced by Japanese artist "Taro Okamoto" has a height of 70 m.

Even though it has passed 50 years since it was manufactured, its presence and power are still alive.

I got chance to pass by (target go to expocity). The tower of sun is fun and the park is huge. There are children facilities like park, cycling area...etc. Saw plenty of local primary students go there.

If you go after rain, plz expect there are plenty of mosquito. There should be a lot of flowers in the peak seasons, but i dont see any in late May. Go earlier if you target for nice flowers.

But anyway, grouped with a few attractions nearby in expocity. You can still spend a fruitful day around the tower of sun.

We have visited to the park by early April this year. Once you located the Tower of the sun, then you would know the position of this Cutural Park. The Sun Tower at the entrance of the park, was a pretty location for taking photos. Nonetheless during our visit to the park this year, most of the flowers there including cherry trees and tulips were still not in good form and thus we were a bit disappointed.
