The cave system here is quite immense and does take a good 30 minutes to walk through . Once you are out, you are at the village. It's the same as Ryuku Mara for those that have visited that with kitschy shops that sell activities. The kids had fun on a sweltering hot humid July so that's really all I... More

One big tourist trap catering mainly for group tours. The cave walk through was interesting but the rest of walk took you through numerous shops and cafes. Glad we did not drive to this area only for this sight.

Well lighted and easy to walk through caves. Good for children. Beautiful formations. A must see in Okinawa. Afterwards, enjoy the habu show. It is something to see. Also, they offer habu liquor samples as you walk through the the habu distillery. Great tasting ice cream made from fresh fruits. Bring your family.

I really loved and enjoyed the Okinawa World. The place has a huge aquarium, parks, an old traditional Okinawan village and an awesome cave. I would really encourage anyone going to Okinawa to visit Okinawa World. However, I think some of the animals were not treated properly. For instance, we saw a mongoose that just ran back and forth in... More

The stalactite and stalagmite formations are interesting to see. Whilst the formation are not large, they compensate in density and numbers. Be warned that it is still very warm and humid in the caves, though it is slightly better than the outside. There is a dance performance in the "village". Again, nothing amazing, but the dancers do put together a... More

Long walk through underground cave system. Very interesting and beautiful cave. Surprisingly hot and humid for being so deep underground. Very sad the history that Okinawans hid here during WWII and how they were treated by the Japanese military.

The cave was very nice, but it is humid in there! I'd recommend bringing a little towel to wipe down after walking through the caves. Also, as others have said, definitely wear shoes with good traction because it's quite slippery. After getting out of the cave, you are basically forced to go through this "village" where you can buy Okinawan... More

The cave at Okinawa World is pretty neat! The rest of the shops and experiences you can do are pretty touristy. The Taiko drumming show and Habu snake show are in Japanese and continue, even if there is rain. There is a snake museum and exhibits near the show. Great to spend a couple of hours in with a large... More

Visited the illuminated cave; watched the Habu/cobra exhibit. Shopped and ate and then had the great pleasure of watching a performance of Taiko drumming. All fun and informative. Locals and visitors from the Japanese mainland made up majority of visitors, which means is was well done. Food was impressive and lots of artisans fare in the shops. Take your time... More

Recommended by local friends to visit the caves. We were not disappointed despite having visited many other well maintained caves in Australia and Asia. Try to put on waterproof windbreakers and a cap for you will get wet especially during the wet months. Though artificially lighted up, I must say it is much more tastefully done than the caves I've... More
