I visited the park with my parents and a friend from Hong Kong when I returned to Okayama for a short visit.
Strolling around the beautiful scenery surrounded by mountains was a great way to refresh myself.
At the playground, there were goats, sheep, kangaroos, capybaras, and more, and my friend and I couldn't stop saying how cute they were. The restaurant (buffet) was also more delicious than we expected, and we were very satisfied. We'd definitely like to go again.

Once or twice a year, this place offers local residents free access so we took up the offer and went along to see what it was like. My wife was hoping for some authentic German bread and sausages along with any other delights such as Baum kuchen that might be available. Sadly, the bread they make here contains margarine so is not so great and the 'German' sausages are made locally and are of pretty poor quality. All the food that we saw was overpriced and contained all sorts of crap such as margarine, etc. The rose gardens were in bloom so that was pleasant and the view from the top of the surrounding mountains in their autumn colours was very pleasant. The toilets were disgusting. They were flooded and obviously could not cope with the influx of visitors on a free pass day. This is a point that can make or break an attraction. TOILETS HAVE TO BE PERFECT IF YOU WANT RETURN VISITORS! All in all, rather disappointing with just a couple of bright spots, (roses in bloom and a group of opera singers letting rip in the centre of the village). Won't be back and would have been seriously furious if we had paid a thousand yen each to get in and then found this disgraceful mess.
