説明書からですが、18世紀半ばからベンガラの製造販売を手掛けた老舗のお家です。建物そのものはいつのものか分かりませんが、母屋や蔵などが見学出来ます。重要文化財として平成18年に指定されました。映画にも使われたみたいですよ。

江戸時代のベンガラ屋敷

江戸時代末期からベンガラの製造販売を手がけていた老舗です。主屋や各種蔵、庭園など見応えがあります。まさしく豪商の名にふさわしい造りです。国の重要文化財に指定されています。やはり超お金持ちの家は後世に残るのですね。使っている建築材料が違うのでしょうか。

見る価値ありまくり！

昔の家をまるっと体感できる施設です。夫婦の寝室なんかがかなり奥まったところ（屋根裏のような！）にあったり、玄関スグの卵べや…などなど、昔の暮らしを体感でき面白いです。さらにはベンガラの商売に使われていたおふだ？などの展示などなどもあり…見応え満点でした。とてもおすすめです。

ベンガラの製造・販売を200年あまりにわたって行ってきた片山家の家屋です。
建物は2階まで上がって見学することが出来、さらに片山家に保存されていた書籍も展示されていて興味深いです。

見学可能なベンガラ商の屋敷

道向かいにある別邸と合わせて４００円で見学可能です。全く自由に見学できるので、ざっとみようと、ゆっくりみようと自分の興味度合いで自由です。
当時は大豪邸だったでしょうし、建物内部も見学できるので、主人部屋から女中部屋、蔵まで見ることができ、とても興味深かったです。

片山家は、ベンガラの製造、販売を手掛けて繁栄し庄屋を務めた家柄です。主家、宝蔵、米蔵などがある大豪邸でした。江戸時代後期の建物です。

吹屋ふるさと村のまんなかにあり、郷土館とセットで見ることが出来ます。家屋としてはそれほど特徴的ということはありませんが、昭和のレコードやおもちゃなども展示してあるのが印象的でした。

弁柄豪商のお宅

弁柄で富を築いた、豪商の暮らしぶりを今の時代も伝える民家が残っています。この弁柄がこんなひっそりした村に、今我々の身の周りに必ず存在する品物に使われているなんて、後世の私たちは初めて目にしてわかりました。通訳案内士の勉強を進めている上で、この弁柄という存在を知りました。岡山に来る機会があったら行ってみたいと軽く思っていたくらいでしたが、この村に来てみてよかったです。実際目にしないとわかりませんね。暗い部屋の日本家屋の特徴が色濃く残っています。女中部屋など、家の主とは交わらない造りなど身分の違いなど考えさせられました。なんだかちょっとぞわっとします。
