幕末という苦難の道を進みました

少し高台にあるので見晴らしは良い方です。幕末には江戸幕府老中板倉家のおひざ元の寺院、将兵は鳥羽伏見の戦いに敗れ家老が責任を取り自刃しました。その墓は境内に在ります。

本堂は新しいものでした

高梁のお寺が集まる一角にあり山すそに建っています。由来を読むとお寺自体は14世紀に建立、16世紀にこちらに移築されたものだそうですが、本堂の建物はもっと新しいものでした。日蓮宗のお寺で他のお寺と同様に石垣が立派でした。

お釈迦さまは釈迦族の王子様として産まれたので、きっと白象に乗っていた方だということを改めて感じる事ができ、日本の片田舎ながら、古代のインドに想いをはせられグローバル感に浸る一方、幕末には地元の藩を戊辰戦争の内戦のおり、地元を戦火から守るため家老が切腹した墓があるなど、海外の古代文化のカケラから近世の郷土の歴史を感じさせられる場所

媚中松山藩の　無血開城の立役者　熊田恰（くまた　あたか）　の墓所があります。

ここの個々の墓所は　地元のよくご存知の人には　霊剣あらたかです。
熱心に　お参りすると　願い事が　叶えられたり　するような　パワースポットとして　信じられてます。　
熊谷恰が　地元の藩が　戦果で焼き野原になりたくさんの　無駄な　血が流れにないように　飛び地の玉島でじがいし　自らの　命で　備中松山藩を　救ったことによるものだと、思われます。

寺町の一画。

備中高梁の寺院は山すそのあたりに集められていて、全体で山すそに一直線に並んでいるような形になっています。日蓮宗のこのお寺も、そういった寺町にあるお寺のひとつですが、幕末の天誅組や鳥羽伏見で戦った人の墓があり、幕末の動乱は全国の武士たちを巻き込んだ戦いだったんだなと実感しました。
