Delicious farmer's market/showcase
Sep 2014 • Couples
The area Bay Farm is in is a giant swath of reclaimed land ("kantakuchi") created in the 60's for farmland.
During different seasons they have fields of flowers that people come to look at. A giant field of poppies or sunflowers is pretty fun to visit.
But then in the station they have a market of all of the fresh food grown in the reclaimed farm land. This is quite a variety, including fruit, rice, vegetables, candy, fish, and freshly prepared bento.
There's a little separate area with some tables for eating, and the station also contains plenty of information on Kasaoka and interesting places in the region to tour (not necessarily in Kasaoka). This is a great place to stop for a rest if you're traveling through, or if you need some Kasaoka omiyage.

Relaxing flower fields!
Mar 2014 • Friends
Bay farm is a wonderful place to rest your feet while traveling around Kasaoka. The flower fields change with the seasons. So far I've visited when they grew rape flowers, poppies, sun flowers, etc. and each time has been enjoyable. There is a small grocery store (where you can purchase gifts and local produce) and a fishmonger on the property, as well as a small restaurant and ice cream shop. And the bathroom facilities are well kept. There are vegetable gardens to look at as well. And there is a small dog park for your canine friends. This is the place to be if you feel like wandering through flower fields, taking pictures, and eating ice cream.
