This place is bit difficult to visit by public bus. I recommend you to hire tourism taxi service which managed by Hyuga-City Tourism Incorporated Association. Its office is located at near Hyugashi station, you will see it in front. And can apply taxi service without reservation at this desk. It is depend by ride time, for example visit here and Umagase, from 2,500 yen (1,000 yen discount) 4 seater one. And you can ask your request, visit other place and extension, as you like. If you back, please cooperate to fill questioner for taking discount.

Take a short walk to see stunning views of the ocean and rock formations if the weather is good. Easy to get to, and to park.

If you do not have your own transportation the Hyuga Sea Cross and Umagase can be easily accessed by taking a taxi tour from the Tourist Information Centre. There are a few different tours available ranging from 2hours to 4 hours, we took the 2 hour tour which cost us 3000yen - it does not matter if you are alone or 4 of you it still costs 3000 yen. The driver was very knowledgeable and managed to use his phone translator to explain the various sights and the history behind it. We managed to cover 3 important sights on the 2 hour tour. Our driver Yamagawa San was an elderly gentlemen who was patient and walked everywhere with us! Hyuga Taxi Tours are highly recommended if do not drive and these have been subsidized by Hyuga Tourism.

Not only we can see it as a cross sea by nature's made, but also its shape seems like Japanese character "叶" that means "Come true". This place is close with Umagase cape, so recommend to visit here too. From Umagase, may be around 15min walk. Possible to reach by local bus from Nobeoka station with "Higashi-Hososhima(東細島)" line, bus number is 82. You may best to get off "Mihokogaura-Kouen(御鉾ヶ浦公園)" next Higashi-Hososhima. 5 buses available in week day, 3 also week end a day. about 21min walking distance. 1,100yen from Nobeoka but you can use 1day bus pass. better to ask at station. about 1h10m one way. Map code is "136 291 864*55" for car navigation system.
