Beach is clean but still can find some the jellyfish floating
However this beach had rescue personnel sitting there which gave a safety feeling

it has jumping platform installed which was quite fun for kids to enjoy

Usually from late June to early September, swimming is great at some beaches in Amanohashidate. Water is consistently clean and attractive, though not so much as the ones in further north in Tango-hanto Peninsula.

The southernmost section of Amanohashidate facing the bay of Miyazu is especially excellent for swimming and it is designated so with service facilities and life guards in the summer. Since the area is right next to one of the two openings between the inner sea (Aso-kai or Aso no Umi) and Miyazu Bay, the current could be fast at certain times each day. So, you need to be careful about it.

Other areas along Amanohashidate are not suited for swimming. It is not allowed to swim the area facing the inner sea.

The designated beaches for swimming are sandy and quite comfortable. When you are close to pine trees, you might be a little bothered by pine needles in the sand, but overall it isn’t very serious.

Later in the swimming season, usually in the second half of August, it is common to see some jellyfish in the area. There are two kinds of them – white ones and transparent ones with dark reddish stripes. The white ones are safe and harmless, but the ones with reddish strips are menace and avoid them by any means. If you are stung by these reddish ones, ask for a treatment right away.

Great walk and lovely setting. Bit too cold for the beach, but you can hire bikes, boat rides and take local bus, all good fun!

The boat trip along the sand bar is much-promoted but the narrow forest doesn’t look like much from the sea. You could walk across in 45 minutes to an hour depending on speed and fitness but the most pleasant option we found was to hire a bicycle. You can stop when and where you want to get a closer look at the interesting forest and beach and a trip from the Amanohshidate town and back will take about an hour.

I am from the baltic sea. For me this kind of beach is normal, nothing special at all. But, it is the longest beach I have seen in Japan so far. So maybe this is something special for Japan.

This is very quiet beach which locates side of Amanohashidate. Public bathroom and shower available. Local cafe also located near by so you can eat hot noodle kind of casual meal. If you visit there by car, you need to park your car Amanohashidate station area and walk to this beach. It takes about 15 minutes.

...because it is beach on both sides of the famous Amanohashidate land bridge, and the numerous twisting pine trees just adds on to the unique flavour of this land bridge. We were there in May and indeed, it was still too cold to take a dip into the sea and winds were strong, blowing our empty strollers along the pavement. The beach is almost entirely empty both days we were there, probably because most locals would only come here on weekends or during the hotter summer months. Nonetheless, it's still a great place to take a lovely peaceful stroll or to ride a rented bicycle on the central pavement amongst the dense pine trees. There were some small shops and cafes on our side of the beach on this land bridge but none of them were open the few times we visited this beach. Perhaps they don't open in non-summer months. It'll certainly be be cool if there were indeed beach facilities like what another reviewer shared.

This is a beautiful beach to walk along and reflect. We did it in the early morning when the beach was uncrowded and the view of the water serene.

Came in winter. There were quite a few people walking along the beach or sitting to enjoy the view. Nice walk along a long stretch of beach

What a lovely area to meander through. It was drizzling while we were there but didn't detract from the beauty of the place at all.
