土佐七雄安芸氏の城跡

車で訪問です。無料駐車場があります。
平山城のため見学しやすいです。堀や枡形虎口、本丸跡等が良好に残っています。全国的には有名ではありませんが見学しやすいオススメの城跡です。

城跡、私は好きです。

小さな町の奥の方にありました。
野良時計から歩いて行けます。
古い石垣と、小さな堀が待っていてくれました。
物音ひとつしないような空気と、誰も見付けらえない町。
それが良い。

石垣が残ってます

高知県安芸市の城跡、残っているのは石垣くらいで建造物は殆どありません。
城好きや城マニアには見所が有ると思いますが、それ以外の観光客にはチョッと物足りなく感じました。
駐車場、入場料は無料です。

森の高台の中にあります

安芸城跡は木々が生い茂った雑木林の高台の上にあります。石垣があるので辛うじて城跡だと分かります。一方雑木林の前に、当時のお城の一部を再現した書道美術館があります。こちらを見ながら当時のことを回想されても良いかもしれません。

武家屋敷から続く道に水堀と土塀の入り口があり、その奥に安芸城跡の看板が立っています。詰は比較的きれいに整備されていますが、周辺は民家や資料館などになってしまっており、こじんまりとしたいので印象です。それでも最上部からは海もみえ、周囲を見渡せる地形であることが確認できます。

武家屋敷の横にありました

何度も来ているのですが、安芸城跡があることは知りませんでした。山ではなく平城なので。管理している方が、案内してくださいました。ガラスが古いもので、少し歪んで見えたり、たまらなくノスタルジックでした。立派な石垣があり、城主の往時の勢いを想像しました。

野良時計から歩いて

安芸市の観光スポットの１つ野良時計から歩いていくことができます。野良時計の駐車場に地図があるので、地図に従っていくと迷わず行くことができ、小高い丘に城跡がありました。

土佐の国の名族安芸家の名城。手前には江戸時代に造られた山内家の家老の屋敷もあります。

安芸平野の中にある標高41メートルの小高い丘にある城です。41メートルとは言えかなり急な坂を登ります。安芸川や堀などに周りは囲まれ、曲輪もしっかり設けられていて中々の防御力だったのではと思わせられる城で、領主が安芸国虎の時代に長宗我部元親との対立が激化してきて、長宗我部元親に安芸城を攻められましたが24日の籠城の後に兵糧が尽きたために士気が低下し最期は安芸国虎の自決と引き替えに落城したので、城自体のポテンシャルは中々のものではなかったのでしょうか。
自動車でここを訪問するなら安芸市立歴史民俗資料館の駐車場を目指して来ましょう。隣接する山内家家老の五島家の屋敷や土居廓中と言われる街並みもセットで見所満載の最高の場所ですよ。岩崎弥太郎の生家も近いです。

梅の木

小高い丘にあったのであろう城跡は、小さくとも威厳を誇ったのでしょう。
城跡に登る前に梅の木が居並び仄かな梅の香りが良かった。優しい小さく可愛い梅の花は、力強い枝と堅固な石垣に似合うものだ。
