An easy walk from Marugame JR train station. Go out the north exit, cut through a gravel parking lot, go past the internet building (see sign/banner on building), walk approx. 10-min down the narrow street to the waterfront. Look left for the Honjima ferry ticketing office. Check the schedules. The ticketing office opens approximately 20-minutes before ferry departure. It’s approximately a 30-minute ride. Honjima Island’s main attraction is the old village with lots of interesting preserved buildings. It is an easy walk from the pier. Bike rental is available for about 500-yen. The tourist information agent on Marugame suggested I bring my own food/snacks. It was good advice as I didn’t find any place open while I was there. Bring your own beer. Vending machines are available for coffee-tea-soft drinks-water.
