残念ながら併設のレストランは閉店したそうです。前沢牛がかつて程の知名度はなくなった印象ですが，しっかり最近の品評会でも優秀な成績を得ていることがわかりました。食べられなくて残念でした。展示してあるものも，牛に興味がある人にはたまらないでしょう(そんな人はそうはいないかもしれませんが)。こんな専門の博物館が末永く続くけられるようにお客さんに来てもらいたいです。

すごく広い広場があり、犬のお散歩に来ている人に会いました。こんな広いとこで遊んでいる犬は幸せだな〜とかんじました。高台にあり、近くに流れる北上川が観れるなど景色も良いです。

牛の博物館・・・食べるばっかりでそんなに詳しくわかんなかったので、勉強になりました。お天気も悪くレストランも休みだったのが残念でした。

ＮＨＫの番組「みちたん」で紹介され気になって訪れてみました。牛の博物館だけあって、当たり前ですが、牛についていろいろな展示がしてありました。２階は見どころ満載です。ただこの博物館のためにわざわあ遠方から行くかと言うと、微妙です。中尊寺のついでに時間があったらぜひ訪れるぐらいの気持ちで行かれた方がいいかと思います。残念ながら併設されているレストランはやってませんでしたが、博物館近くに牛を食べさせてくれるお店があるので、帰りによりました。

畜産を学ぶことが出来る施設です。前沢牛で有名な場所なので、前沢牛のホコリと情熱を感じることが出来ました。レストランも隣接しています。

２０１５年１１月２８日付け日本経済新聞NIKKEIプラス１「親子でへぇ～１テーマ博物館」関東以北第５位にランクイン。東北道平泉前沢インター降りて国道４号線沿いに約１０分。入館料４００円。館内写真撮影禁止。２階は牛の生物学、牛と人々のかかわり、世界の牛など牛に関する展示が極めて充実。化石、はく製、銅貨にカウベルの他、ウシの胃や原始的搾乳法パネルなど普段お目にかかれないお宝多数。食べてすぐ寝ると牛になる(日本)、鶏口と為るも牛後と為る勿れ(中国)など牛に因んだことわざコーナーは大人の勉強にもなります。１階は前沢牛のＰＲ館的存在。部位と上手な料理法の説明に、買うなら味わうならと近隣レストランも紹介。前沢牛料理が堪能できるレストラン併設。ステーキ、しゃぶしゃぶ、すき焼きに焼肉とウッシッシーしたい方には、モウたまりません。

牛の骨格標本から牛の生態を解き明かし、民俗学の中での牛、それから牛の肥育の手法まで前沢牛の産地らしくこだわりのあるユニークな展示が特徴です。
併設のレストランは博物館のおまけの施設の範疇をはるかに超え、単体のレストランとしても十二分にやっていけるレベルのフレンチレストランです。前沢牛がメインでお値段もかなりのものですが、素晴らしい前沢牛を堪能できます。

前沢牛の全てが知れる。肉の部位ごとに適した料理が見ることのできる牛のパネルが気に入った。読む文が多いので、食べることが好きか牛に興味がある人以外はサラッと流しちゃうかも。
