In the right season, this park is really awesome. I've never visited in the off-season (and in fact I think it closes down for the winter), but June is a great time to see some color amidst the rainy-season greys of Japan. Lots of June-blooms can be seen in this garden, including hydrangea bushes along the sides of the expansive iris areas.
There are azaleas and other flowers in April, and some lovely wisteria blooming in May.
