The simulator allowed us to have an experience of a 7.3 level of earthquake. The museum provided a comprehensive explanation of Kobe/Awaji earthquake.

What is most impressive about this museum is that it includes some of the actual roads/land affected by the earthquake so you can actually SEE how the land moved, how the road buckled. The simulated earthquake is also interesting, though we have experienced something similar in our local science museum/

Many excellent displays & a very realistic earthquake simulator, Photos/ which I have many would better describe the museum. A long fault line is under a roof, an entire house is left as it was after the earthquake

We visited by bus from Akashi bridge exhibition center to there. It takes around 40minutes. We can see the fault that result of the earthquake. Also we watched short video about the earthquake and understand the process. One interesting thing is we can feel the earthquake by ourselves. This museum shows earthquake of 1995 in Kobe.
