充実の観光案内所

わだやま観光案内所となっていますが、
場所は竹田駅前にあります。駐車場は、この観光案内所
から少し離れた無料駐車場を利用します。

施設が充実しており、竹田城跡の歴史がわかる情報館天空の城
が良かったです。また綺麗なレストランはデート等にも使える
と思います。

土産物屋や旅館などがある広場の一画にあります。

駐車場からまっすぐ来て線路を渡る前にあります。線路を渡って右に歩いて行くと城への上り口があるので、車で来た人が利用するのに便利です。鉄道利用者用には竹田駅にはまた別に観光案内所がりました。

映像や資料で竹田城のことがよくわかります

竹田城址のふもと、竹田駅近くにあります。竹田城の当時の様子を映像で思いをはせることができて、竹田城址見学の跡はぜひ立ち寄ることをお勧めします。城址は石垣だけしか残っていませんが、映像でみると山城のすごさがよくわかります。

線路沿いにある

パンフレットなどたくさん置いてあります。この他に駅でも情報は手に入ります。元酒蔵の建物近くにあります。お土産はほんの少ししかありません。

情報館の隣に展示室がありビデオで城の紹介を上映しています。
ジオラマや石垣の見本などここで予習してから行くと一層竹田城を楽しむことが出来るでしょう。

これといったものは無い。無料ならば、駅から近いので、電車の待ち時間を利用して見てもいいかな。ぐらいの感じ。
同じエリア内にお土産屋さんもあります。

竹田城の情報収集

駅の真ん前にあり、竹田城含めたこの地域の情報がすべて集まっています。
石垣の組み方などがビデオで放映されており非常に参考になります。
他には旧造り酒屋やみやげ物屋さんがありますが、あまり物売りしていないところが好感を持てます。駐車場は無料ですぐ近くにあります。町全体に良心的な印象を持ちます。

竹田城が冬季閉山していたので、ぶらぶら歩いている時に発見

竹田駅舎で100名城スタンプを押した後、次の電車が車での約50分、何をしようかと歩いている時に発見しました。「情報館天空の城」からは竹田城の石垣が見えました。みやげ物も少し販売していました。
カフェや宿泊施設も併設しているようですが、地図がオシャレすぎて、配置がよくわかりませんでした。

汽車移動ですと時間に１本程度のダイヤにて間が悪いと空き時間がかなり生じます。そうした時、数限られた観光的施設にて休憩、軽食、土産品、トイレ等があり大変便利な空間でした。
