歴史の勉強になる

まず便利だったのは、無料駐車場。近くの三木市観光協会に無料で留めれます。そして入館料もなし。中に入って資料を読むと、「館林の飛び地」ということに驚かされました。この辺りでは飛び地が多いそうです。江戸後期に建てられたものですが、三木の金物、や江戸時代の経済のよい歴史の勉強になりました。

上州館林藩の切手会所

江戸時代、三木のこのあたりは、上州館林藩の飛び地領地であり、その切手会所として建てられたもの。明治になり、玉置家の住宅となり、離れ座敷などが増築されています。ボランティアの方が建物や展示品の説明をしてくださり、この建物の歴史などがよくわかりました。国の登録有形文化財に指定されている、歴史的建築物です。
