This one has a quite nice outdoor bath. Visited here on May and it happened that I was the only one bathing there at the time. So it was very relaxing. Second best public bath in Kinosaki in my opinion.

This is advertised as having the outdoor onsen in a "cave." It is not really a cave, but a man-made outdoor space in a mix of natural stone and concrete. It was pleasant, but not really the outdoor setting you might hope for. Do not spring for the private onsen - which is more like an extra-wide bathtub.

I went there on my last day in Kinosaki. It was way too hot inside, so I didn't bother going into the inside bath and went straight to the outside bath. The cave effect was nice, but the ceiling were higher than I expected them to be. There was only a thing bamboo wall separating the guys and the womens... More

Ichi no Yu was the first bathhouse I went to in Kinosaki, and it was a pretty good experience. One of the larger ones in the town with a cave theme. Don't expect to go into a real cave, because it's not - however it is designed with a cave motif in mind. It's the only bathhouse I can think... More

Centrally located in the middle of the main street just minutes from most ryokan. Nicely maintained. one of the more popular onsen.

I would rank Ichi no you the 3rd onsen in town. The location is right in the middle of town. There is an outdoor cave like hot springs which is quite unique and it is of decent size. There are multiple pools inside as well with slightly different temperature so you get to dip into different ones. The dressing/bath room... More

The reality didn't quite live up to my expectations. It's more of a partial cave roof over the onsen than the series of cavey inlets, stalactites and outcroppings I imagined. Apparently I have an unrealistic imagination, if you know what you're getting beforehand you'll probably enjoy it. The floor and seats were also "rock" (I'm pretty sure it's artificial rock).... Ichi no Yu (一の湯) is found in the middle of Kinosaki onsen street. It looks like a school on the exterior, but it boasts a special cave onsen inside. The indoor bath area is pretty wide and the water is somewhat hotter than the other public baths. The outdoor area is where you find the cave onsen. It's like an... More
