This park is about a 15-minute ride from the JR Toyooka train station. The mini-bus costs 250-yen. They have a nice museum adjacent to an open outdoor pen with a few of the white storks standing around. I’m not sure if they are trained and tamed. Walking around the park you’ll see more wilder storks in the open fields flying... More

We came upon this white stork park by chance while out stretching our legs on a walk from where we were staying at the nearby Kinosaki Onsen. This park is a must if you are interested in nature, and particularly about saving threatened species. There is a breeding program in place to increase the numbers of white storks in Japan.
