Lovely place with excellent friendly staff

To be honest dropped in on a wet day to get out of the rain. However it would have been our loss had we not dropped in. Excellent variety of exhibits displayed in an interesting sequence. Really well worth the very inexpensive entry price. Our family ages ranged for 5 to 68 and all had a great few hours.

Go out of your way - wellworth it !

Go down a side street and follow the signs - well worth it. Fascinating insight into aspects of Carmarthen life - a short film show and several interactive opportunities. Plenty of objects on display and clearly presented both in English and Welsh. There’s a small shop and cafe plus beautifully clean toilets ! You will spend a very iinteresting hour here - I would thoroughly recommend and very pleasant , helpful staff !

Hidden gem in Narberth
Feb 2020
This is a lovely informative museum tucked away off Narberth High Street. Great little coffee shop and plenty of goodies in the main shop to browse and buy. They also have a large selection of high quality second hand books to purchase. A must go to little museum while visiting Narberth

Interesting and informative

A good balance of interactive and displays of information all relevant to the local town and area. Worth the entrance fee, took around an hour to look round with a nice shop and cafe if wish to stay longer.

Small independent museum that is very interesting. The museum is down a side street and is upstairs with a library on the ground floor. A lot to see of the local area with good explanations. The history of the area is explained

Thank you for your very positive review. We're pleased you enjoyed your visit and hope to see you again. If you love books, our research library is open to all and the second hand books on sale in the coffee shop are constantly being replenished!

Don't miss it

I know it’s a cliché, but I can only describe the Narberth Museum as a hidden gem. We were very lucky to stumble across it (I would suggest positioning a wooden sandwich board at the end of Picton Place). The museum has been very well designed and thought out and gives a fascinating insight into the history of the town and this part of Wales. The kind lady working on the day we visited not only listened to me drone on about family who had lived in and around Narberth but also managed to turn up some relevant photos and other information. She was so friendly and generous with her time. There’s also an excellent selection of new and second-hand books and a lovely little cafe and we bought some wonderful local marmalade in the gift shop. An excellent and informative way to spend an afternoon. Great for all ages and well worth a visit.

We went to visit the Narberth Museum as we found it at this site.
We were very surprised to find that we had to pay to get in as it didn't clarify this anywhere. It was £6.50 entry for myself and 2 of my children who are 11 and 2.
We found the story corner the most interesting one and spent most of our time there to be honest.
Another winner was the old fashioned windup phone that my son was mesmerized by and couldn't believe when I was a kid, we had the modern version of those. It took him about 2 minutes to dial my mobile number on it.
Apart from that, I didn't really rate much in there but a nice time filler for a rainy day.
Parking is non existent so you will need to park at the towns main car park at the top of the high street but that was only 50p for an hour or 60p for two hours.

Good morning! Thank you for taking the time to write a review of our museum. As we receive no funding we have to charge an admission fee to keep the museum going and the charges are on our website and in the entrance foyer. We're pleased that you enjoyed the story corner and the phone but sadly, there's nothing we can do about the lack of parking as we're in a residential street.Happily, the carpark is only a few minutes walk away and, like you say, is reasonably priced!

What a lovely little place.
We visited with our young baby, the ladies there were so welcoming, we stayed for a coffee afterwards and chatted to the staff and volunteers. Would definitely recommend if you want to learn a bit about the local history.

Well worth a visit

We really enjoyed our visit to this museum. It is very thoughtfully compiled - based on local events, industry and activities, including social history - but of more general interest too. Very professionally presented. There is also a very good café and bookshop.
