Lovely View
Oct 2019
This small sandy beach runs near the pedestrian walkway that takes visitors from the Miyajima Ferry Terminal to the Itsukushima Shrine. The beach itself, though clean and well maintained, failed to inspire us. But its view of the shrine and the famous O-Torii did as we made our way toward the famous duo.

A low wall separates the sand from the walkway, which offers benches, where people can rest. When we arrived, it was low tide, giving access to the O-Torii on foot from the beach via a muddy expanse. Miyajima's tame deer and a few visitors ventured toward the O'Torii. Unfortunately, the gate was covered in scaffolding for restoration work, so didn't offer much of a photo op. The deer sought snacks and some people complied, ignoring the big sign that requested visitors not to feed this wildlife.

Much later, we sat on a bench, waiting for the ferry to arrive and noted that some visitors had opted to wade from the beach into the water, because the tide was coming in. They seemed to be having a good time, but our energy level was low. Deer, however, kept prodding us for handouts, and one bit through a paper bag that was next to me on the bench.

Nov 2019
The beach affords a great view of the tori and access at low tide. but to the renovation it held very little attraction to me.

Nice walking place
Jul 2019
Views are beautiful. It’s kinda a children beach. Nothing much to do. Kind of tame but beautiful to walk.

Not a typical beach
Jul 2018 • Family
This is not a typical beach as there do not seem to be a lot of swimmers or sunbathers probably because of it’s proximity to the Itsukushima Shrine. It’s a simple breach that really enhances the view of the Shrine and a popular spot for travelers to take pictures as the surroundings are scenic and it’s also frequented by the wild friendly deers of Miyajima.

Nice beach with amazing view
May 2018 • Couples
Nice short beach front with amazing view on Itsukushima shrine's torii. Friedli Shika deer are an added bonus. Be advised that it can get pretty crowded during any sort of holiday since it is a popular domestic tourist destination for Japanese.

Low tide is preferred!
Mar 2019 • Friends
Low tide is preferred and watch for deer. Great place to stroll, walk and view the Torii gates. Nearby is food, salty and sweet treats, and plenty of shopping.

Lovely area to walk
Mar 2019 • Couples
You can walk along the beach and get beautiful views across the water NZD see the mountains. You will likely have the tame deer as companions looking for food.

Small beach
Oct 2018 • Friends
Just a small beach to walk around. Very clean, peaceful and you can enjoy it with cute wild deer. I spend about 2 hours here strolling around and taking pictures of Tori gate and also the shrine. The view is so beautiful with sunset as background.

Average beach in a beautiful setting
Nov 2018 • Couples
Mikasahama Beach is an average beach in a beautiful setting.

The setting is waterfront with friendly deer, with an amazing large tori with water views over to Miyajimaguchi .

The area though is one of the must visits in Japan.
