Nothing special about this place. Its where you enter/exit the island for the ferry. Only good thing is it offers free maps of the island in English and other pieces of information which are helpful.

This is the point you embark or disembark for your day trip to Miyajima. Serving two ferry companies it is a busy staging point but efficiently run, with regular crossings for both ferry company's. Take the JR ferry if you have a JR pass for a free service.

This is the entry port of Miyajima Island. There are few shops inside the building where you can buy souvenirs and also snacks. The port staff will control the crowd. Everything is organized very well.

The ferry service to Miyajima Island is to be commended. With two services and a very regular timetable we didn't have to wait long on a busy Sunday of tourism.

You have to go through the Port Bridge in order to get onto Miyajima Island from the Ferry. It is a very busy place, but Japan has a great system to keep things moving. We enjoyed seeing all the hustle and bustle kept in order.

Few facilties at this jetty. It serves the JR and Sanyo ferries. Just remember to join the correct queue when leaving the island. There are toilet facilities here.

Just an entry and exit point for the ferries. Well maintained and good crowd control. You can have some snacks here while waiting for the ferries. Toilet facilities available.

As the ferry comes every 15 minutes and leaves punctual the staff has got to have everything under control and they have.
The building is nothing special.

as generell in Japan, everything smooth and friendly organised - 2 - 3 lines if crowded, helpers regulate everything - so no worries and no long waiting lines for us for the ferry
