Saihouji is a former zen sect temple converted to the Joudo sect in the Edo period. The main temple building was refurbished in the early 18th century. What is unmissable is the platform further up from the main temple area called Fumeikaku built in 1758, from where you can command a spectacular view of Takehara, and which has been a favorite film shooting spot.

Located at the historical district of Takehara and standing high above the streets, it provided a wonderful view of Japanese tiled roofs and surroundings.

Located next to Zhuyuan Old Street, you have to go up a short set of stairs to reach it. Western Temple is actually an ordinary temple. There is also a "Pu Ming Pavilion" higher up on the side. From Pu Ming Pavilion, you can overlook the entire The scenery in the urban area of Takehara is good, but because there are actually no special buildings in the urban area of Takehara, the view is just a cluster of low houses and a mountain scenery not far away, which is not a very special scenery.
But if you come to Takehara Old Street, you should come up and take a look!
