呉市の上蒲刈島と豊島を結ぶ橋です。「あび大橋」という愛称がつけられています。上蒲刈島から豊島にわたってさらに奥に行くと大崎下島にいくことができます。

上蒲刈島-豊島を結ぶ橋。吊橋構造だが、桁下も高目なら主塔も高く、橋全体が実にスマートで優美。快適に渡橋した。

サイクリングで豊島側から西に向かって橋を渡る場合、ブルーラインに沿って車道の左側（南）を走ってきてそのまま橋を渡るのは危険です。橋の20メートルほど手前まで来たら道を渡り、道路の北側の歩道に乗ってください。
橋の南側は歩道も路側帯もないので自転車は怖いです。しかも、橋を渡り終えるとすぐにトンネルがあるのですが、そのトンネルに歩道は北側にしかついていません。かなり長く暗いトンネルなので、自転車で車道の左端を走るのはきわめて危険です。必ず北側の歩道を行きましょう。
安芸灘とびしま海道のブルーラインの引き方に問題があると思うのですが（ここから先は北側を通れという看板が欲しい！）とりあえずは自衛しましょう。

とてもきれいな吊り橋です。瀬戸内の島々や海の様子、行き交う船の様子と見事にマッチングした風景を造り出しています。橋の上からの眺めはとてもきれいで、その様な事は出来ないのですが、車を停めてみていたいような気分になります。何度訪れても飽きない風景を見える事が出来ます。

豊島は小さい島です。
北回りは3.6km。
豊浜大橋の手前が長い坂でした。今回のとびしま海道で一番長い。
橋も903mと一番長く一番立派でした。
豊島大橋からの眺めもいいです。

この道をサイクリングして来たんだと思い感慨深く眺めています。

これまで家族の車便乗で何度も通っていましたが、今回初めて自らの運転で豊島大橋を往復しました。豊島大橋は長い橋だけではなく、上蒲刈島側の長いトンネルと併せて構成されています。橋の上は高くて怖い・・・いや高い所大好きな人は良いのかなと思いつつも、トンネル部分はセンターポールが数十メートルおきに設置されています。つまりは追い抜きが困難と言うこと。原付だと正直に速度が出せないので、後続車にあおられつつ走ることに・・・
原付でも感じますので、最近はサイクリングの名所でもありますので、自転車運転する人は、あおられ感が半端なくて怖いのではと思います。交通量的にセンターポールは無くてもそう問題ないと思いますので、ない方が車が追い抜きをかけやすくて走りやすいと思いました。

豊島大橋の開通により、広島県から愛媛県までつながりました。瀬戸内海の青い海と島の緑と白いつり橋が、心和む自然の景色で、楽しいドライブができました。
