Never expected this great building in somewhat out of the way Elne. The cloisters are easily a match for those in Moissac and add on the beautiful main building and you simply cannot afford to miss it.

We did not visit the museum. The cathedral is nice looking from outside but more impressive inside. It used to be one of the biggest in its time.

I have family in Elne so I've visited it a few times already and always love to have a walk around its historical centre and their cathedral with such amazing views. Probably better if you get there at sunset.

Wonderful cloisters and a relaxing way to spend an afternoon. Parking is a little difficult to come by so better parking in the town and walking the short way up.

Dive into the history of Elne with a visit to this museum. Nice collection of prehistorical and roman finds, with context added. Most is in French, but they offer guides in many languages.
