Discovered this area almost by accident as we came to buy a sailboat from a local broker. What a pleasant surprise. It's a great sailing area with sailboats of every size and shape and many marinas. You can't miss it, just look at the map of Holland You can not see from one side to the other, despite the Dutch having reclaimed a lot of land from it You can take a ferry across if you want too, sail it and drive past it on the Northern part

Free parking. Supermarket and shops near the beach. The water was too shallow to swim, but it cooled you off. It wasn't overcrowded, the next people were at least 3-5 meters away.

Largest lake in the Netherlands gives ample opportunity to visit old fisher villages, enjoy the sun or fight your way through heavy winds.
