Tazawa Lake is a Unique Experience
Oct 2019
We took a Round-the-Lake Bus to visit this lake during the autumn of 2019. The fare, 2,100 Yen was pretty expensive. However, it was worth the trip because the bus took us around the entire Tazawa Lake. We had a chance to see all the main attractions in this area.

Not so many thing to see
Sep 2019
Tazawa lake is the deepest lake in Japan so it is famous in that sense. Of course the water is very clean. Manybe one and only must see thing is Tatsuko Statue but it is rather new and frankly I did not get exited by seeing actual one on the spot and felt same feeling as when I saw the photo. There are two way i.e. round trip around the lake by local bus who kindly stops at 2 places on the way so that you can see and take pictures. Another is riding on a boat. I recommend bus rather than boat.

A very clear lake
Jul 2019
I drove round the lake and there were a few very nice spots. The water in the lake is really very clear. You can see through the clear blue water and cried out in awe.

Very beautiful indigo blue lake
Aug 2019
Very nice indigo blue lake. You can view this lake by catching bus at train station go around the lake and get back to the train station. If you're already at lakeside, you can catch the circular bus as it comes in from town, circle the lake and get off back at the lakeside shopping area before the bus heads back to the train station. It costs 810-yen for the circular ride. The bus stops for about 20 minutes at the golden statue of Tatsuko and about 10-15 minutes at the Goza no Ishi Shrine. You can ride the boat for a great shoreline views. It costs 1200-yen for a 40-,minute ride. There are lots of fishes at pier side. You can purchase a bag of fishfood for 100-yen at a small un-manned stand. The boat slows down for viewing the Goza no Ishi Shrine and then again at the golden statue of Tatsuko. There are bike rentals at the pierside shopping area along with the souvenir shops and restaurants.

The perfect lake escape
Aug 2019 • Couples
The water is cold & clean, the air is fresh, and there are no crowds. It's small enough to bike around (about 12 miles) leisurely, admiring the astonishing blue water, towering pines, small rice farms, and mountains at every horizon. There are just enough hotels and restaurants to give you options, but few enough that the place feels like a private paradise.

Superb View
Mar 2019 • Couples
Heard about this place because of the Korean TV series IRIS. I drove there from Aomori-shi. It was quite a long drive but really worth to do it. When I checked what my camera captured, it was stunning. The major landmark of the lake is statue of Tatsuko. But if you drive there, bare in mind you go clockwise or anti-clockwise around will be closer to the statue. The lake is quite big. If you turn the wrong way, it will take some time.

Good place to visit during a fine day
Dec 2018
During a fine day, it is nice to visit Lake Tazawa especially Tatsuko and the temple in the northern shore with the red tori. It is tranquil and quiet and offers good spots for relaxation and peace.

Beautiful caldera lake
Oct 2018 • Couples
This is a very pretty lake and it is worth taking the time to drive around as the road runs close to the shore and gives beautiful views of the lake itself and its mountainous backdrop. There are a number of places where you can stop and if necessary obtain a meal. There were a few cyclists but be aware that the road is quite narrow and very windy so you would need to be careful and aware of cars on the road. The lake is well worth a detour if you are in the area.

Blue, so blue.
Oct 2018 • Family
We took the cruise to view the lake, that was great (though cold). I also cycled the full round around the lake (about 20km in under 3 hours). Personally, I prefer doing the latter even though I don't really enjoy cycling... says a lot about the view. It's not BREATHTAKING, but it's a calming, beautiful, relatively easy cycle. Worth it if you have 3 - 4 hours to spare for the day.
