Heard about this place because of the Korean TV series IRIS. I drove there from Aomori-shi. It was quite a long drive but really worth to do it. When I checked what my camera captured, it was stunning. The major landmark of the lake is...More

During a fine day, it is nice to visit Lake Tazawa especially Tatsuko and the temple in the northern shore with the red tori. It is tranquil and quiet and offers good spots for relaxation and peace.

This is a very pretty lake and it is worth taking the time to drive around as the road runs close to the shore and gives beautiful views of the lake itself and its mountainous backdrop. There are a number of places where you can...More

We took the cruise to view the lake, that was great (though cold). I also cycled the full round around the lake (about 20km in under 3 hours). Personally, I prefer doing the latter even though I don't really enjoy cycling... says a lot about...More

cycling around this lake is everything! the perimeter around the lake is remnants from the bubble era, which is not necessarily a bad thing. there's plenty of nostalgia and nature to be experienced while riding through local villages and bike paths through the greenery. the...More

Serene, peaceful, and untouched, this caldera lake is simply beautiful. There are a few areas for relaxing in a beach like setting, a boat ride, buses, some restaurants. But what's great is the clean water, pristine air, and the untouched beauty of the lake. I...More

Pretty standard Japanese Lake, but has beautiful color. There is little to do besides paddleboats or rent a bike for riding on the road. No walking path to follow the shore...Seems very oriented toward busloads of tourists. The National Park nearby is great though..

Hello. Yes there are buses that travel around the lake and there is even a tour boat or two on the lake itself. The bus from the Tazakawa JR Station to the Lake leaves about every 20-30 minutes and once you get to the lake... More
