This was a real highlight for me during my visit to Kuala Kangsar. I was unfamiliar with the life of the late Sultan of Perak and it was fascinating to have the story of his life and times presented in such a splendid building with all the relevant artefacts, objects and photographs displayed so sensitively. Quite superb and the entry price was an unbelievable...RM4.

My four year old was very impressed by the fact that she was visiting the 'home' of a king and queen (she calls all royalty that).

A very well curated gallery, in a space that is cavernous and at the same time maze like.

Worth the RM4 admission ticket for adults (concessions available for pensioners).

RM4 per entry. Students & Seniors RM2 per entry. An old palace turned into a museum. Beautiful architecture. Fascinating information about Sultan Azlan Shah. Place is very well maintained. Breathtaking memoirs and interesting information to learn about this sultan. Worth a visit. The grounds are beautifully kept too. I love this place.

We hired a car from Ipoh for 4 hours, paying RM$190 including toll charges. After 40 mins on the highway, we were told that this Museum is closed for Renovations for the next 2 years !!! Wasted both money & time to travel all the way to Kuala Kangsar!

It is still being renovated and this is a shame for all of us tourists but if you are passing through, it is nice to look through the gate at the building. Do not waste your time especially but if you are in KK (and it is a nice place to visit), why not have a look?

This is a wonderful museum, focussing mainly on the life of the previous Sultan, Azlan. We entered knowing very little, if nothing about him and left realising that this was a ‘dude’, an inspirational man who lived life to the full, achieving great things personally, for his community and for his country. He clearly lived to serve, from being the national hockey manager for the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich, a practising lawyer and judge to being the King of Malaysia for a 5 year term. If you are in Kuala Kangsar you must visit. Beautifully displayed with very kind uniformed hosts. A gem.

Located at the old town of Kuala Kangsar, with very unique architecture of mixed style of Western and Malaysia, with very nice view, specially under the blue sky. The collections seem not so valuable, but most of them are souvenirs or gifts, not easy to see at other place. When I went there is Saturday, free entry, easy parking also free

This gallery has the most impressive collection of Sultan Idris's belongings. It traced the origins of the Perak Sultanate and how the system of succession works. Probably everything we want to know of the Sultan can be found in this gallery. From this gallery we can learn about the Sultan's contribution to the nation which is really a lot, ranging from being a judge to heading various sports committees. The entrance fee of Rm4 is well worth it and you can easily spend 1 to 2 hours looking at all the exhibits.

This is one of the recommended attractions in the charming royal town of Kuala Kangsar. I visited the Gallery on a Sunday after paying a nominal entrance ticket, there were very few visitors and had the whole place to myself. The gallery chronicles the life of the late Sultan Azlan Shah, the Father of the current Sultan of Perak featuring photos, personal items including during his stint as the Yang Pertuan Agong of Malaysia. It was well curated and gives you a glimpse into the life of the Perak royal family. the Gallery and the sultan's collection are located within an impressive building. It is easy to find the Gallery. It is located on the road leading to the Royal mosque, Mesjid Ubudiah. In fact many of the royal attractions are located along this road, I had hired a taxi from the town centre, located next to the main bus station to bring me to the various attractions,
