This place had a lovely great view of mount fugi and also of kofu. If you have tattoos then don't be afraid to come here as this is the only place I would say is that they don't mind. I think the thing that really bothers me is the place is sooooo old! There was no conditioner to wash your... More

Top of the mountain location gives a great panoramic view. We went into the smaller area, right side. Changing area and washing area are covered. The onsen baths are in the open. Pick up a Vietnam-hat, and check bath temperature (only labeled in Japanese), one is quite hot! Going Down the path on the left leads to a third bigger... More

We had a little trouble finding an onsen that would allow my partner to bathe due to his tattoos. This place was perfect! We got there by car and it was well worth the trip. The onsen was clean and quiet with an amazing view. Spent a little time after just relaxing and taking in the view with a beer.... More

"Hottarakashi onsen "is a nice hot spring. It takes 15 minutes from Yamanashi-shi station by car. You can see the beautiful view of Mt.Fuji and Kofe basin taking a bath because it is located in near the top of the mountain. The night view is better!! Most rare point of Hottarakashi onsen is opening before dawn! So, a lot of people visit... More

You can reach Hottarakashi Onsen (Yen700) from Yamanashishi JR Station by either taxi (Yen2,150) or bus (Yen100, 1030/1340/1645hrs <> 1040/1350/1500hrs) getting off at the Fujiya Fruit Park Hotel terminus. From here follow the road uphill, past the go kart circuit; it is a 30min walk uphill to Hottarakashi. You will be rewarded with a delightful onsen in rustic surroundings and... More

I heard tons about this onsen, so it was the first one I went to. It does indeed have a gorgeous view, but it was also very crowded. Maybe because it was a Saturday during festival season when it was just starting to get cold out. I also marked it down one point because the facilities were not as clean... More

One of the most memorable onsen experiences ever, once in the rotenburo (outside hot spring bath). Imagine Mt Fuji appearing in front of you as the sun rises, while immersed in a therapeutic hot spring at dawn. We stayed at the Chisun Inn Kofu Isawa and left a little after 5:30 am. Only a 10-15 minutes drive up the mountain,... More
