There is a theory that this is 'the oldest shrine in the Kanto region.' During the Showa period, almost only locals visited the temple, although there is a theory that it is the oldest in the Kanto region. Therefore, it was full of majesty and sacred atmosphere.
But since the beginning of the Heisei period, things have changed when it comes to setting popular anime.
At New Year's, many fans gather and there is a feeling that they have become secular.

If you want to experience the inherent majesty and mystery of this shrine, I recommend weekdays when there are few visitors.

On your way to the temple, you will notice a lot of Lucky Star banners hanging on lighting poles, a few posters on several shop windows and a few gachapon machines with "surprise" balls, including Lucky Star items. The town itself was very quiet and quite empty of people.

The temple was very charming. The temple area was avarage in size, but was full of things to explore, including shrines, torii gates and a huge chicken cage. The chickens followed me with curiosity, but the rooster was clearly angry and ready to protect them. There was even a peacock. You'll also see a lot of Lucky Star fan-art on the wooden wishing plaques in the middle of everything.

The Shrine at Washimiya is rich with history. In the heart of the bustling Kuki City, here is an oasis of peace and quiet. Be sure to watch where you walk, because pieces of ancient pottery constantly migrate to the surface due to the frequent earthquakes. Washimiya (now Kuki City) is the Japan Research Center for Rohn and Haas. It has a thriving economy and an efficient school system.

I really enjoyed this shrine the things to look at and the day we went here there was a ceremony which made it extra special. Really good features to look at but also a beautiful location for pictures.
