The views and setting of Onogame is relaxing,green and comfortable. Walks along the path is real pleasure with blue sky, blue waters and green landscape and not much human around. A real wilderness indeed.

Went on the 29th of May and the kanzou (yellow daylilies) flowers are in full bloom! Although we did not climb up the rock, I'm sure the view from the summit is as breathtaking too. Would recommend coming here during early summer (late May - early June) when the flowers are blooming.

Sado Island & the Onogame Rocks was one of the highlights of my trip to Japan. Although we visited the rocks in winter (no yellow day lilies) it was still so beautiful. The coastal drive you take to the rocks was unforgettable. If you're in the Niigata prefecture I highly suggest getting the ferry, spending a couple of nights here... More
