Sado Island Taiko Centre (also called Tatakokan) was built from local Sado Island timber and features a large hall, traditional cooking classroom, exhibition room, and meeting rooms. The Centre has large balconies that overlook Mano Bay and the Osado mountain range, providing visitors with stunning natural views all year round.

This was a wonderful experience, we were all adults but kids would love it. The director was lively and full of personality. First, he demonstrated the different types of drums and explained how they were made. Then, audience members were invited to try playing them.

Don't miss a performance by the world-renowned Kodo taiko drummers, if they are in residence on the island (they travel internationally and nationally much of the year). Their energy and artistry are amazing!
