Well worth a visit at cherry blossoms time. This castle is spectacular. Easy to accessing and walk around. There is no cost to visit.

Excellent day trip from Nagano when the sakura are blooming. We arrived mid-afternoon to see the grounds in daylight. We stayed through the evening to photo the castle. In retrospect we wish we had come a bit later in the day as there was not...More

The castle certainly looks nice from outside. Nothing much inside except for an elevated view of the park. Its not worth paying to enter.

You need tickets to get in (cheap). Try to get a 360 degree view of the surrounding moat and park from the top most floor of the castle. Great exterior architecture, but ho-hum interior.
